There are moments in life when someone unknowingly becomes “Mentorish”, shaping how you think and act in ways you might not realize until much later. Four years ago, I had the privilege of working with someone who, without even trying, became that Mentorish person for me. In the midst of a marketing plans, e-commerce, a pandemic, and constant change, he would drop nuggets of wisdom—simple, almost casual advice that ended up transforming my approach to work and leadership. One phrase that stands out above all others: *"Ruthlessly Prioritize."* At first, it was just another piece of advice. But as time went on, I realized how powerful it truly was. It meant learning to focus with precision, making tough decisions about what really matters, and having the courage to let go of distractions—even the ones that seem urgent in the moment. It meant understanding that you can't do everything, and trying to will only dilute your impact. For me, "Ruthlessly Prioritize" became a way to elevate my work, my team, and even my personal life. I still carry it with me every day. So today, I want to give a shout-out to someone who might not even realize how much his guidance has shaped the way I think, Lou D'Ambrosio at Goldman Sachs. Thank you for the coachable moments, the tough conversations, and the invaluable advice that’s helped me see the bigger picture. Your influence is lasting, and I’m deeply grateful.

Not long ago, I received this text from someone I am very close to. When you everything know suddenly changes, it leaves you feeling uncertain, less confident and needing support. Luckily in this case everything is going to be ok, which is why I am using this example in leadership. Gathering the facts, remaining calm, educating yourself and asking for help from others, are all vital as a leader. As we navigate uncertain waters in the housing industry, I will continue to devote myself to helping to lead where needed. Also, if you do not have an emergency contact set up in your iPhone, I highly reccomend this feature!

At our team offsite a few months ago, we engaged in the CliftonStrengths assessment. The program identifies a person's top talents across four key domains. Each domain encompasses a variety of strengths that can help individuals understand their natural talents. These domains help individuals understand their strengths and how they can best contribute to a team or organization. The four domains are: 1. Executing: - Talents in this domain help individuals make things happen. They are adept at turning ideas into reality and working hard to achieve their goals. - Examples of strengths: Achiever, Arranger, Belief, Consistency, Deliberative, Discipline, Focus, Responsibility, Restorative. 2. Influencing: - People with strengths in this domain are able to take charge, speak up, and ensure that others are heard. They can sell ideas and influence others to achieve goals. - Examples of strengths: Activator, Command, Communication, Competition, Maximizer, Self-Assurance, Significance, Woo. 3. Relationship Building: - These strengths help individuals build strong relationships and connect with others. They create groups and teams that are greater than the sum of their parts. - Examples of strengths: Adaptability, Connectedness, Developer, Empathy, Harmony, Includer, Individualization, Positivity, Relator. 4. Strategic Thinking: - Talents in this domain enable individuals to absorb and analyze information that can inform better decisions.
