Those that CAN work do so to the extent of their potential and the profits therefrom are the property of the State (for Equitable re-distribution.) Those that can't work by virtue of temperament:  The professional queers, criminally otherwise-engaged; and foreign Contraries are automatically exempt.  The nervous, the climate-change-addled; and the permanently medicated can apply by ignoring the rules ... in other words:  not showing up.Government owned business is the ultimate goal of "Price Fixing" and has led in every case that it was enacted to ruin. Rationing, starvation, a middle class decimation into victim and oppressor intolerance. Extremes of economic depression ... every time ... from Peron to Nixon. And every time it had to be abandoned like a severed arm to save a body.This is the Harris/Walz plan to bring down prices and rebuild a healthy economy through collective inactivity and lack of imagination. The same team that brought you Gulag-like lockdowns and prosecution AND JAILING of desperate citizens trying to feed their families, save the family business. Paint-Balled if they went outside by Storm Troopers enforcing a curfew ... ... Monsters on Maple Street ... marching neighborhood to neighborhood in a grid formation like a military operation (look up Minneapolis in the COVID days under Governor Walz.) Tell on your brother, betray a friend, there is an official dedicated Rat Fink line. A snitch in time saves nine of the right kind of people. The one's self-emancipated of scruples and decency.Minneapolis was burned to the ground to appease them.Fascism is in your best interest, as you can see; and certainly you can trust Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to come through on that.  They know what's best. They already tested it ... and got away with it. Look it up, they both attested to it VEHEMENTLY in every extrimists over-reaction they have intentionally taken: The Marxists way of determining perameters.She must reshape things. There are so many so needy now having been imported from so many poorer (so far) countries. No more profits for the food industry. Hmmm.  Is she aware of the profit margins for Apple Products? Facebook? Amazon? Food price gouging doesn't even rate a percentage of theirs. But Kamala owes them for favors so farmers lose their shirts instead.It's a lunatic plan and too blatantly Communists. I think she just overplayed her hand too obviously. Review of People of the West https://lnkd.in/gKCRfP7r The People of the West is a trailblazing western collection of short stories and poems by Dave McGowan. The book acknowledges the varieties of the human species and tries to portray a swift story using these entities. Despite being a work of fiction, the author draws inspiration from real people, thus, making the book very relatable.    The great water, the strange man called Wool, the Cree people, the rascal’s village, and the poems; all of these and more help to build a well-paced novel. What thrilled me was the cruel judgment passed on the people who risked their lives trying to prevent the bone of meat from contaminating their waters. Why was the leader’s son spared? This book genuinely stirred my curiosity in many satisfying ways. Indeed, the story meshes with themes of adventure, history, and unearthing the diversity of people.    Utilizing the classical western period, a timeframe many authors have difficulty communicating in their books, McGowan establishes this story. The first tale starts in 1798 and ends in the mid-1960s. Impressively, the author was able to own the story and convey his ideas clearly to the readers. His descriptive prowess is so vivid that creating a mental picture of the happenings in this book came with ease.     The book’s cover art is another pleasing element of the book. I am confident the art does a solid job of conveying the book’s content at first glance. Inevitably, this tale was worth my time. Ideally, the process of getting ready for the transition starts six months prior to your release. The ideal structure is for you to have a mentor and go through this program every week while still in prison and twelve weeks post-incarceration. The objective is to reduce recidivism by addressing community-reintegration issues and providing a structure for transition success. In other words, to keep you from returning to prison by helping you build a successful life as you address typical problems in the free world outside of the prison walls! The book provides some prework to get you ready to reach out to a mentor. Once you are ready, you and your mentor will meet weekly to discuss the chapter. The design of the book is to provide you with an opportunity to work on life and employability skills. Finally, a checklist and templates are provided to ensure post-release readiness. By the grace of God, most people have not been incarcerated and probably cannot imagine how their life would have turned out if they had gone to prison. It is my prayer that if you or your family member or a church partner are reading this book, they will believe you are worth it and want to reinvest in you to give you a second chance. We all deserve a second chance. Certainly, God has provided for a lifetime of chances!

I first encountered V's (formerly Eve Ensler) writing in seeing her seminal play 'The Vagina Monologues', "probably the most important piece of political theater of the last decade" (Charles Isherwood of The New York Times, 2006). I am still feeling its impact on me, hitting me hard when I realised that some of it was addressing my thoughts and actions as a male. Now to this hard-hitting article. It really pains me to understand why V could write it, that it expresses ideas I have reflected on as I observe what is going on in the US. And expressing the idea of #lonelisness in a context I had not thought of. Here are the opening words: ⏸ [has] been thinking about fascism long before I even knew I was thinking about it. I lived for years inside the mind, the home, the terror of my tyrannical father who used violence as the methodology to sustain his power over every aspect of our existence. In order to achieve that power he separated and divided us. He isolated us, used us against each other and made us lonely. Hannah Arendt wrote about loneliness in the Origins of Totalitarianism, published in 1951: “What prepares men for totalitarian domination in the non-totalitarian world is the fact that loneliness, once a borderline experience usually suffered in certain marginal social conditions like old age, has become an everyday experience.” In 2023, the US surgeon general declared that loneliness was the most serious mental health crisis facing Americans. This loneliness is a form of existential dislocation. It creates persistent anxiety, depression, depersonalization and distrust. It is not unlike an ongoing, low-level collective panic attack. A constant buzzing of unrest. Enemies are lurking everywhere. The ecosystem in which we live, the culture feels poisoned and uninviting. We no longer recognize the world as our world. We become withdrawn, estranged, feeling helpless and abandoned. Mainly all our time and energy is spent protecting ourselves, proving we have a right to be here, living defensively. It occupies our attention, our creativity. It’s exhausting. ... I wonder what is the specific psychological impact of Project 2025 – of knowing there are fascist forces who openly and proudly devised a 920-page “policy bible” meant to undo every hard-earned right, every safeguard that protects women, African Americans, workers, elderly, the infirm, LGBTQ+ folks, immigrants, Muslims – essentially everyone. What happens to our hearts and our capacity for connection and trust when we are encased in a field of malevolence and hatred which daily threatens our stability and peace? To know people mean to harm us, that they have no shame putting that desire on paper. What does this do to our psyches? How do our bodies process such hate, violence and cruelty? Who do we have to become in order to survive? ⏸
