While we read about #Flippingstructure, the first question comes to mind, is it DUNKI of Indian Corporates? The answer shall be certainly NO. Time has gone that corporate used to shift base to tax heavens either to execute money laundering in sophisticated manner or save on taxes due to tax arbitrage mechanism then prevailing. Now, in the era of digital transformation, when the world is inching closure towards unified global policy reforms and tax rationalisation measures, the Commercial rationale like need to access international finance and matured markets, rather than tax-saving motivations, primarily shall drive the need to flip holding structures! Consideration of exchange control regulations is also crucial to ensure regulatory compliance. Tax authorities globally are revising policies to prevent base erosion and profit shifting, emphasizing the balance between growth and equitable taxation. This dynamic underscores the need to harmonize global tax regulations to foster fairness and sustainability. As businesses adapt to the common objective of sustainable solutions with technology advancements, strategies will likely prioritize equitable contribution to the countries where they operate.

The boom in exits in India stands in stark contrast to the rest of the world. The best news is that the exits are broad-based coming from half from IPOs, and a quarter each from secondaries and IPOs. "The big picture: The Indian exit boom is thanks to a few factors, namely favorable macro conditions and investor-friendly government policies, GPCA says. Plus, the rise of retail investors has boosted the public markets, Indian corporate acquirers have been active, asset managers have adopted continuation funds, and the rupee has been stable." Bengaluru-based venture capital firm Stellaris Venture Partners has closed its third India-dedicated fund, raising $300 million, increasing its total assets under management to over $600 million. The fund will support 25-30 early-stage startups in technology and technology-enabled sectors, focusing on seed and Series A rounds. Since its founding in 2017, Stellaris has backed 44 startups, including Mamaearth , which went public last year, and Whatfix, which raised $125 million in Series E funding. Recent investments include EV financing startup Turno, credit-on-UPI provider Kiwi, and AI SaaS companies OrbitShift.AI and CARPL - Radiology AI Platform. The firm has strengthened its team with key appointments, including promoting Naman Lahoty to Partner, appointing Chetan GMS as CFO, Preseedha Premnath as General Counsel, and Vardhan Dharnidharka as Investment Principal.
