Absolutely spot on. Compensation peeps are intent on reducing the standard deviations from the target quotas which then limits the good/solid producers. They leave and what are left are the 2nd/3rd tier producers. People make less money, finance/comp are happy and growth stalls. So they hire more and more mediocre producers and the saga continues, all at the price of the company’s reputation in the market. #winningstrategies #salessuccess #successfactors

I always find Brian’s posts insightful. Companies in tech seem to be intent these days on hiring sales types who know nothing about the market they’re selling into, know nothing about the products nor the technology upon which the products are based. And they lack the passion or interest to learn. Worse yet, the companies don’t seem to think it’s important. I’ve never understood how you can be successful in sales w/ knowing something in each of these key areas, yet management always seem surprised when the reps don’t work out. #successfactors #winning #salesstrategy

There are a ton of features in the TIMS Assistant smartphone app... I like the one called 'Quick Order' designed to quickly create a cylinder return order at the dock by scanning the bar code. Just scan and TIMS does the rest! #tims #tia #cylinders
