“In the boutique public relations and strategic communications world where relationships with peers matter, David is a pleasure to work with. We partnered intellectually to design solutions for prospective clients, during which time David consistently added value to and helped plan and lead business development exercises and bid submissions to municipal, private, and non-profit organizations. Constructive ideas, an open mind and ear to others, and results always meeting or beating deadline.”

How can you simplify complex messages for better communication?
At the end - when all your due diligence is complete, research analyzed, opinions gathered and considered - and you have your final, FINAL message, stop what you're doing and go try it out on your kid, your niece or nephew, or someone like that. Do they get it? Is it clear? If yes, great. If not, you might need to try again.

How do you measure and evaluate PR across departments?
On their grandest scale, PR objectives flow from an organization's identity, strategy, business goals, and brand. Many mature, established organizations understand their brand identity, promise, and service differentiation. Furthermore, they often tweak them as part of a scheduled strategic planning process. For smaller or early-stage organizations, these ideas and the documents that express them may not exist or need updating. PR objectives originate from an understanding of the organization's positioning and differentiation within its competitive environment and in context of its target audience.
