    Through the work of student consulting teams and faculty-led business education courses, we grow business revenues and jobs with a focus on businesses owned by people of color, women, LGBTQ, veterans, and those located in under-served communities. Since our inception in 1995, we have generated more than $210 million in new revenue and retained over 200,000 jobs; but we didn’t do it alone.

    Education

    The Aguilar Endowment is the first endowed scholarship of its kind in the nation. It provides two scholarships for talented and deserving Latinos who are enrolled at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. The endowment was founded by private community leaders in the Seattle area and it honors Ernest Aguilar, who was an important community leader in Washington. Since 2006, over $500,000 has been raised for the endowment.

    Politics

    ArenaSolution.org supports efforts to bring a state-of-the-art arena to the Puget Sound region for future professional sports franchises as well as premium concerts and shows. I was charged with much of the community outreach and participated in government relations. We were successful in having the new arena legislation passed by both the Seattle City Council and the King County Council. Our main goal is to bring a professional basketball team back to Seattle.

    Situated in the heart of East Los Angeles in Lincoln Park, Plaza de la Raza Cultural Center for the Arts and Education is the only multidisciplinary venue of its kind in Los Angeles. Plaza is a focus of activity, a popular meeting place for its neighboring communities, and a regional center for the five million Angelinos of Mexican and Latin American descent. It is a truly a “Place for all People” and a safe haven for local youth.
