Social media has been swarming with posts by Americans claiming Olmecs in Veracruz, Mexico and Honduras are ancestors of current day African Americans. The subject is always based on lookership, but not science, or haplogroups. Olemecs are decendants of Mayans. The Olemec bone DNA is haplogroup A mtDNA. Africans are haplogroup L. The Olemec statues represent decapitated ball players. The statues have a ball cap on their head. These sculptures were possibly inherited by Aztecs. It’s thought that the Olmecs were a military theocracy and first Classic Era Mesoamerican empire. The spread of its influence Puebla, Morelos, Guerrero, the central basin, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Guatemala has been attributed to the messianic movement accompanied by trade of religious and art items. Olemecs existed 1500 to 200 B.C. and occupied the Tabasco and southern Veracruz area, Mexico’s rubber area. Olemec means rubber.

Items in construction that have become weapons. •Contracts •Change order requirements in contracts requiring subs to proceed without executed CO and then contractors not doing their part with the owner-intentionally or unintentionally) •Adjusted schedules of values or not allowing a sub to invoice for work complete. •Payment portals - yes even these! Payment portals are only open for a few days prior to pay app due dates, payment portals that do not match contract values, or change order values Yup - things need to change!

Hey! Today we’re in Florida visiting a contractor and friend who recently completed a renovation without obtaining the required permits. As part of the process to legalize the work, we are conducting a site visit to create an "as-built" drawing. An "as-built" drawing is a set of updated plans that accurately reflect all the modifications made during the renovation, including any changes that deviate from the original design. These drawings are critical for submitting to the local building department to ensure the renovation complies with current codes and regulations. Always pay good attention to DOT permit stipulation 107, and your SSP. DOT says you must maintain minimum 11ft of traffic lane, which contractors think, if the roadway is 28ft wide, they get to keep 17ft for the jobsite....wrong, wrooooonggg. The DOT permit also declares the max space you can occupy, which is usually 10ft. And all deliveries must be taken inside the storage zone, fully enclosed by barriers. NYPD(traffic control unit), DOT and DOB enforce all that

Duct section #4 coming to the ground. From starting to rig this piece to the moment it hit the ground was less than an hour. We have significantly increased efficiency with each pick and rigging exercise. 1st pick - 3 hours 2nd pick - 2.5 hours 3rd pick -1.75 hours 4th pick - 1 hour Every pick is very different, however, the leadership, knowledge, and attitude our crews possess during this work is inspiring to watch and be a part of. VADA: This 200,000 ft. building has an Area 3 uplift value of -34.1. VADA specified a perimeter that passed 120 PSF, WITHOUT a vent in the assembly. A TRUE test, not a gimmick.... The Area 1 uplift value is -19.1 PSF. VADA specified a field that passed  135 PSF, WITH a vent, because VADA Area 1's are vented. VADA spec for this building is 3.5 X Safety for Area 3 And, 7 X Safety factor for Area 1. VADA's success is by Design. No wonder VADA has NEVER had a roof damaged by wind! As some of you are aware I serve as the lead Structures Specialist (StS) for the State of Florida's Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) engineering cadre. I have had the privilege to serve as an StS for the last 10 years, being deployed to seven separate hurricane events as well as the Champlain Tower (Surfside) collapse. I am writing today because the State of Florida's US&R teams, primarily composed of firefighters trained in technical rescue, are in need of engineering advisors to support them on search and rescue missions. Much of our work involves performing emergency evaluations of structures following hurricane events, although we are also needed anytime a building has collapsed or is in danger of collapse due to a natural or man-made disaster. It's not a small commitment--prospective StS applicants need to be endorsed by a rescue team, and then they go to California for a solid weeks' worth of training with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Following that they are attached to a team. Even after the initial training, the most effective StS will continue training with their respective fire departments and go on ride-alongs with the tech rescue firefighters to bolster relationships. Although we do get reimbursed for deployments, this is not a role that you take on for money. It's a lot of work, with serious potential for bodily or mental harm. But it's also fun (in some ways), and can come with a sense of satisfaction from serving our state and nation in times of need. In some ways it is a thankless job--but if we don't step up then who will? Prior military service is a plus, but it's definitely not required. Really the biggest requirements are the ability to check your ego, endure physical discomfort, be fit enough to keep up with firefighters, and be willing to serve on the front lines of a disaster. It's not for everyone, but I hope there may be someone who thinks they are up for the challenge. Right now we have immediate openings for the North-Central Florida team based in Ocala / Marion County. Anyone based in Tampa Bay or Orlando could do this, as they just need to live within 2 hours drive time of the team's base. We also potentially have openings in other areas of the state depending on where someone lives. Interstate Sawing & Demolition - I will give Kudos to Screening Eagle Technologies for their live cable detection. Even when you can’t see a pipe I can still accurately detect live lines, I trust it immensely. Priorly i used Sensors and Softwares - Conquest 100 with PCD until 2020. Since about 2009 I have scanned concrete and located live lines accurately with only GPR. Now, being at Interstate Sawing and having more tools at my disposal. I will pull out the EM wand to show clients how much I trust the live line locator for Proceq GP8000. Today was a good example - 3/4 of the room I got live cable detection but couldn’t see the conduit thru GPR. My outside arrow marks are where the signal centered going each way across it. The signal almost never centers on the pipe itself, I have noticed this recently. Which you can see later in the video when I get a good GPR signal feedback. Not sure if the centered signal feedback is only Proceq.
