We keep learning new things about a relatively re-iterative new design. The good thing is that we are open to learning what exactly happened and addressing it in updated designs or fixes. The faster the better for an optimized design. There is an upcoming Oct 7th launch that is time sensitive which pushes SpaceX to determine root cause asap.

Autonomy Prime will be accepting submissions for the First Fly-Off (Call 001) solicitation opportunity through August 1. If you have a novel autonomous technology focused on alternate navigation solutions designed for small unmanned aircraft leveraging techniques such as timing propagation via signals, solar/astronomical, and other novel solutions for navigation, consider applying! The purpose of each Fly-Off released as part of Autonomy Prime’s overarching Innovative Capabilities Offering (ICO) solicitation will be to competitively request solutions for prototype and fielding resulting from the initial submissions in response to the calls associated with this ICO. Did you know that RTX has its own internal Technical Networks!? These are legacy entities from the old Raytheon days where the Technical Networks were tasked with ensuring that professional engineers of like disciplines were able to communicate and share best practices across the company (which can be a considerable challenge in large companies). This year is the Mechanical, Materials, and Structures Technical Network (MMSTN) internal week long symposium. Last symposium there were over 600 professionals from within RTX gathered together (digitally since it was 2 years ago) to exchange knowledge and network. This year we hope to include even more of our engineering colleagues from Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace as we locate in E. Hartford for this years MMSTN Symposium. This particular symposium as it is one of the first in person events that RTX will host on this scale since the pandemic ended. The symposium consists of a week long activities and presentations that encourage engineers to get together across business units and geographies and share a cup of coffee in rooting out their most pressing issues. This particular event is limited to RTX personnel only. However, we have a vendor showcase event that allows for vendors to come into the symposium and make a similar presentation on their technological capabilities and how those would be of benefit to RTX. These presentations are followed by a vendor showcase event where the attendees of the MMSTN symposium come in and ask questions and understand each vendors capabilities. If you are a vendor and want to participate let me know and I can get you some information on how to take part. RTX people be on the lookout for the announcement in your work inbox! If you don't get it by next week ask your closest work friend or manager. If that doesn't work ask me! 🛰️ Umbra has officially moved into Phase II of the Distributed Radar Image Formation Technology (DRIFT) program, under the guidance of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Nammo AS - current providers of solid rocket motors for AMRAAM, Sidewinder and Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile, and Raytheon, an RTX business, signed an agreement to support the expansion of Nammo’s Perry, Florida site. This planned expansion introduces new manufacturing lines to increase production of critical solid rocket motors in the United States. Through this agreement, Nammo and Raytheon ensure another reliable and independent domestic source of rocket motors for its current and future weapon systems. Nammo has demonstrated its capabilities in solid rocket motor propulsion development and production since the 1960s. Nammo has produced rocket motors for several weapon systems and has delivered over 35,000 for the Sidewinder program alone. Digital engineering requires engineering and manufacturing data to be both human readable AND machine readable. Machine readability enables automated transfer of information ('threading') among product development tools. Textual requirements are human readable, limiting their contribution to digital threads. What is your strategy to formalized any of the 4 primary requirements types (functional, interface, performance or constraint) into a machine readable format?
