First Look: Mitchell Scott’s Comeback Story with Cult Food Science (CSE: CULT) In this interview, Mitchell Scott, CEO of CULT Food Science (CSE: CULT), discusses their focus on cultivated foods and the lessons he learned from his previous venture, Very Good Butchers (TSXV: VERY). When VERY went public at $0.25 and climbed to over $9 per share it created a flood of copy-cat plant-based and vegan deals seeking public listings in Canada. Only a few short years later, Mitchell was terminated and the company after his departure VERY went into receivership. Is CULT his personal redemption story? Only time will tell. We appreciated his candor and willingness to answer any and all of our questions. We first started to pay attention to this when they closed on an $800,000 financing (with PowerOne Capital Markets Limited being a disclosed finder) and started to see increased trading interest back in early May...fast forward 5 weeks and the stock has climbed from $0.06 to nearly $0.30. So, it's had a big move and does have some 5 cent and full 6 cent warrant paper to chew through once the 4-month hold is up in early September. A quick close of this mornings announced round would be good to see. Just this morning they announced a new equity offering: a non-brokered private placement offering of up to 10,000,000 units at a price of $0.25 per Unit for aggregate gross proceeds of up to $2,500,000. Each Unit will consist of one common share in the capital of the Company and one transferrable common share purchase warrant. Each Warrant will entitle the holder to purchase one additional common share in the capital of the Company at an exercise price of $0.35 per share for a period of two years following the closing of the Offering. Last week, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo highlighted the importance of advocating for fruit and vegetable consumption among registered dietitians. Alex Dinovo, President and COO of DNO Produce and Chair of The Foundation for Fresh Produce, along with Katie Calligaro, the Foundation's Director of Marketing and Communications, shared insights on this vital initiative.
