“Chhavi was my “partner-in-crime” at PartySlate. We worked side-by-side every day to deliver meaningful product features and enhancements for our users. If there is a better product manager out there, I have yet to meet them. The TLDR of this recommendation: If given a thousand opportunities to work with Chhavi, I would take one thousand and one. Chhavi is an exceptional product thinker. She’s able to set a 30,000 foot strategy, wrangle stakeholders, negotiate technical requirements, and build an execution plan before other PMs have had their first cup of coffee. Though much was asked of Chhavi, from setting the roadmap to managing delivery, she always made it seem effortless. She is a highly effective communicator, which meant the goals and objectives were always clear, the user stories always well-defined, and the rationale always backed by data. In my time at PartySlate, I was also able to observe Chhavi mature into a manger, taking on a direct report transitioning from another department. She approached her mentor role as a servant leader, being patient, empathetic and selfless. Her investment in her role as a manager was apparent as her direct report quickly became a fantastic PM. For a Product designer, there is perhaps no more important relationship than with your PM. You need a true partnership to deliver great products, and I knew that’s exactly what I had working with Chhavi. There were many times where we didn’t agree on scope, or timing, or some user interaction, but she always approached those issues as a negotiation and it never felt like she was mandating anything. She respected my expertise, and I hers, and we worked through issues towards an outcome that would be beneficial for our users and for the company. In the end, I knew I could count on us always being on the same page and that she always had my back. I’ve never had a better partner. I really miss working with Chhavi day-to-day, and given the chance to do so again, I would in a heartbeat. I am proud to call Chhavi a colleague and a friend. She’s a tremendous asset to PartySlate and would be so to any organization in search of a product leader. ”
