What do you do if you receive constructive criticism during a business networking event?
Regardless of the feedback you receive, especially constructive criticism, it's important to listen carefully and ask clarifying questions to expand on their suggestions. These clarifying questions will help you create a plan for improvement by identifying 'action steps' you can immediately take to improve. Begin working on the items you can control, then bring the rest of it back to your team for analysis. Some feedback can be acted upon, and then there's feedback in which nothing can be done, aside from a complete change in culture. Change the things you can!

With the rise of AI transcription tools, such as Descript, a podcast can be easily converted into a written transcription. After the initial conversion of sound to text, great care should be taken in creating an article from the text that can be used as a fully-featured and readable blog post. Optimize the blog post for SEO, pepper images and CTA buttons throughout, and now you have a piece of Evergreen content that will generate traffic to your website, and increase listenership over the years as curious internet researchers land on your blog.

Be sure to prepare a media kit for your video channel or podcast, as this will be an important part of your pitch for potential guests. Partnering with industry experts for content is intended to be a reciprocal engagement; you benefit by gaining more reach with your guest's audience and they should benefit from the reach of your audience as well. Your media kit should include relevant data points, such as impressions, reach, average amount of downloads, as well as listenership demographics.

Although researching your content topics is tantamount, data doesn't take the place of genuine enthusiasm and a shining personality. No matter what channel of choice you're posting on, your excitement for the topic you're discussing will shine through, which will ultimately win over your audience, or turn them off. This, coupled with thoughtfully planned talking points about your topic, will create fans in your audience that will be actively looking forward to your next valuable thought-piece.
