What's your organization's social media content strategy? What's that you say? You post five times a week? You recognize all the "international days of"? You promote all of your products? Many people mistake these tactics for a strategy. A strategy: - States what business goals you strive to achieve with social media. - Defines a consistent brand voice and appearance. - Determines where your customers or clients hang out online and what social media platforms will best serve you. - Sets a course for building relationships on those platforms, including benchmarks and measures. - Carefully plots the type of posts you need to create to reach the right people at the right time. Posting twice a week with intention can take you further than five times without. If you're breaking your neck to post X times a week without a plan, you might be wasting your time and headed for burnout when you don't see results. #ContentStrategy #SocialMediaTips

📰 ⚡ NEWS FLASH: Your "hook" doesn't succed or fail because of its format. ⚡ 📰 In fact, the term "hook" is ridiculous anyway. It implies that you're "catching" your audience...pulling them into your message against their will. Is that how you want your communication to be viewed? Doubtful. Instead, let's try a different perspective: You're not "hooking" your audience. You're "signaling" to them. The way you open your message shouldn't be some bait or trap that you use to snare an unsuspecting audience. Even if that succeeds in gaining some momentary attention, it's not going to have the long-term impact on your audience's behavior - and THAT is what you're really aiming for. Aim to SIGNAL the value of your message to your audience. Let them know that what's about to follow is meaningful to them, because of something they already BELIEVE. ❌ HOOKS grab people who have no investment. Once they're hooked, their first instinct will be to get UN-hooked. ✅ SIGNALS demonstrate incoming importance and value. They cause your audience to say "This seems significant..." The biggest mistake when hiring for social media 👇 Do you want a successful social media presence that functions as an integrated marketing tool? Then don’t hire someone who only knows how to go viral. It’s successful in the short term, but social media that’s consistent and cohesive with your brand takes skill in graphic design and video editing. Social media ‘influencers’ know how to speak for themselves and gain thousands of followers, but articulating a brand voice, building a brand guide, and understanding how to implement that across multiple platforms doesn’t come from going viral.

Don’t overlook your “Sent” email folder! ⁠It is a treasure trove, when it comes to content ideas. ⁠ ⁠ You have likely addressed key topics and answered common questions in your email correspondence, without realizing it. ⁠ ⁠ I encourage you to search your “Sent” folder and I bet you will find recurring questions from your customers/clients. This wealth of information could easily be repurposed into social media content, blog posts, newsletters. ⁠ ⁠ Cut, paste, and voilà! With a bit of tweaking, you have a ready-made draft, saving you time and effort.⁠ ⁠ This is just one strategy to ease the content creation process. "All in one" or "specialized" marketing agencies? The debate never ends. But here's what I've learned: 🔴 Specialized agencies tend to know their stuff 🟢 All in-one agencies have a broad perspective Here's why: Specialized agencies focus specifically on their expertise and deliver unmatched quality in that field. All-in-one agencies have a broader view of all things marketing and are more adaptable to changing trends. But what does that mean for you? If you need to deep-dive into something specific like SEO, go with a specialized agency. If you're looking for an overall strategy, go with an all-in one agency. At the end of the day, it's what suits your business the best. And always remember, in the end, it's about results.

It’s a fine line between “tell” and “sell”. Writers often have to balance their copy on both sides, simultaneously, to please Google, a target audience, but most of all ... ...yep, that’s right, the client! Who mostly only cares about selling. And force-feeding the “transactional” into the “informational” as much as possible. Especially, during tough trading times. Even if the “search intent” of site page, blog or article is a ”How To” or “Best Guide To”. And there’s also lots of on-page links, CTAs, banners and ‘key benefits’ inbetween every paragraph. Clients just wanna see visitors nudged right along to checkout. No matter the type of product or service. For example ... I was once briefed by a marketing agency for an ovum-freezing service site. Straightaway, we agreed. The choice of words, sentences and TOV must reflect the extra sensitivity around the subject, and towards it’s primary, target audience. The final draft was signed-off by the agency, Saying we had perfectly tip-toed that fine line between “tell” and “sell”. With the required understanding conveyed in the TOV. Then I checked the copy, uploaded live on site. What the ...?? The client had gone in. Ripped it apart. Stripping in whole lines about a current, “discount offer”, and the “cost savings” ... in almost every paragraph. No heed was paid to paragraph construction, sentence flow, grammar or even reading sense. Some of the words butted directly up against each other. While some sentences stopped abruptly ... The client was clearly not that bothered. Just “sell” the, “how much” and the, “how wonderful”. If the client wanted changes, why didn’t they ask for us to make those changes? No. Of course not. Might be an extra cost attached. Even though the quotation clearly states the price includes all necessary changes. Or they couldn’t wait five minutes. Just get it up there. It’s a fine line between love and hate. You gotta hate how some people love to play copyeditor. They wouldn’t try to rewire their house just after the electrician has left. Just because they know how to fit a 3-pin plug. It’s a fine line between live and earth ... #conversioncopy #seocopywriting #contentwriting

Q: "Mistakes when reaching podcast through email" - Cindy Hernandez Wondering how to effectively reach out to podcast hosts without stumbling over common pitfalls? Here's what you need to know: 1. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵    - Double-Check Names: Ensure you have the correct names of the host and the show. Mistakes here can make a poor first impression.    -Address Assistants Properly: If you're contacting an assistant, use their name appropriately.     2. 𝗗𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸    - Align Subject Matter: Research the podcast to confirm that your expertise fits their content.    - Quality Over Quantity: Pitch only to shows where you can provide genuine value.     3.
