The DoD's new cybersecurity strategy for 2024-2027 is a much-needed and well-crafted plan to fortify the Defense Industrial Base's cyberdefenses. I'm impressed by its realistic, practical goals that prioritize collaboration between government and industry - a critical partnership to drive modernization. The multi-year approach is wise, recognizing cybersecurity as an ongoing journey against evolving threats. While CMMC 2.0 focuses on compliance, this strategy has a broader aim - a zero trust architecture and boosting the DIB's overall cyber resilience. Providing tools, training, and assessments demonstrates the DoD's tangible commitment to this team effort of protecting sensitive defense data and systems. Overall, the strategy hits all the right notes - governance, broadened defenses, resilience, and crucially, partnership between the public and private sectors. While challenges remain, this is a promising path to safeguarding American technological advantages and national security in the digital domain. The DoD deserves kudos for this holistic, forward-looking cybersecurity blueprint.

What is Data Readiness? Reposting and amplifying my comment to highlight two points about CORAS: First, CORAS maps to Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) Information Superiority Vision 2.0 uniquely by securely optimizing a range of bread-and-butter PEO and PM decisions: POM, UFRs, divestments, modernization, data call response, program oversight, S&T portfolio management… This makes current data orders of magnitude more useful for each decisions. Our SmartLane, SmartList, SmartBoard, AI NLP, What If, Driver Trees, and Data Chain features are interconnected in a matrix of value that grows the more you use it. Second, CORAS also creates rich new data, making a new class of decisions available. This includes our AI and ML and applies especially to complex data-to-decision workflows such as mission thread development, Agile Combat Employment, rapid tech insertion, SCRM, and Vanguard investments to cross the “valley of death.” CORAS SaaS does by of these things with a community of amazing and successful customers, and by building on what works already. Standard reporting tools like PowerBI and Qlik become even more useful, as CORAS gives the program workforce more tools to enrich and clarify the picture leaders want to see. Data Readiness is about optimizing data for the decisions you want to make, both bread-and-butter and more advanced stuff. The Defense Information Systems Agency, has just unveiled its strategic plan for the next five years, called DISA Next Strategy, aligns with the 2022 National Defense Strategy and aims to optimize resource allocation and decision-making within the United States Department of Defense. The plan focuses on simplifying the network globally, developing a resilient enterprise cloud environment, and integrating identity and access management capabilities. DISA's strategic imperatives include operating and securing the DISA portion of the DOD Information Network, supporting strategic command, control, and communications, optimizing the network, and operationalizing data. The plan also outlines eight ambitious goals to be achieved by 2030, such as having a globally accessible, software-defined, and impervious defense information system network, operating a resilient hybrid cloud environment, and modernizing national leadership command capabilities.
