If you have true skin in the game, you have true accountability. True accountability means getting both the up-side and the down side consequences of your decision. 😮 Gallup just released some interesting data that indicates leaders are 2x more likely to feel connected to their culture. With that said, their connection rate is just 40%! Recently hired leaders are usually hired because of their fit to the culture. If they have been in the organization for a while, they probably helped create it. Therefore, the 40% connection, with individual contributors at half of that, indicates organizational culture is not resonating. This is important to correct because Gallup found that those with a strong connection to culture are: 🔌 4x as likely to be engaged at work 🔌 5.8x as likely to recommend their organization as a great place to work 🔌 62% less likely to feel burned out at work 🔌 43% less likely to be watching for other opportunities at other employers Here are some great questions to ask about your culture: Does any part of our culture marginalize employees? What is our culture part of? What are the parts of our culture? How is our culture related to how we do business? From which perspective was our culture created? With what other perspectives should we view our culture? Where do our actions and culture not agree?
