How do you foster a culture of retention and loyalty among your employees and managers?
Automate the distribution of HR data insights. A swag box when I get hired is nice, but my business unit leader acting to correct an emerging trend in dissatisfaction is better. With AI tools it’s now possible to empower leaders with their custom data insights, on demand, secure views, and get proactive with employee retention and satisfaction.

Executives clash over company vision during coaching. Can you guide them towards a common goal?
While conflict is healthy, an intractable clash stems from the CEO failing to build trust in her/his own leadership as there must be a trusted deciding voice in the organization. A coach can elicit concerns, data, and needs from the non-CEO executives, and support the CEO in selecting and applying strategies to enhance her/his ability to unite the team even in the face of disagreement, and drive action. CEOs will naturally face inflection points in the company's trajectory that test them, which is why building trust through actions & words, exercising power, and installing repeatable mechanisms for resolving conflict in advance of difficult times are crucial behaviors. Waiting to build accountability until a crisis occurs is not advised.

What do you do if you're an executive struggling with imposter syndrome and lacking self-confidence?
Struggling with imposter syndrome - you must do the thing you are scared of. It's a clear sign you don't have enough reps in, so it feels unfamiliar and you feel out of place. You may have strong emotions but the emotions are temporary and not the true story. If you stop when you feel big feelings you'll just keep stopping. You must do the thing - shaking, blushing, stammering, sweating, it doesn't matter. Get your reps in.

How can you help your colleagues understand the importance of diversity and inclusion?
Boards and executives need proactive, DEI workforce data insights to guide their hiring & promotion strategies. Gone are the days of decades past where 'workforce benchmarks' or the US census were our source of truth. The past years have seen the arrival of precision in people analytics and many tools now offer custom understandings of your own company's hotspots, gaps, opportunities and trends when it comes to improving belonging, inclusion, equity, and diversity of life experience.

Walked away from a promotion to spend three months serving at a small stucco building yards away from the US/Mexico border, in Agua Prieta (Mexico). Walked away from a promotion to spend three months serving at a small stucco building yards away from the US/Mexico border, in Agua Prieta (Mexico). As staff for the Centro de Recursos para Migrantes we offered chairs, a roof, heater, coffee and snacks for people who had spent weeks attempting to cross the border on foot only to be captured, detained and released in Agua Prieta, MX a border town at all hours in the dark and cold. There were children, indigenous Central Americans who didn't speak Spanish, elderly, mothers, men trying to get back to their families in the US, so many people. We provided simple basic medical care for foot wounds from walking such long distances in the desert, information on local social services and a place to regroup for the migrants. It was one of the most meaningful three month periods of my life. http://fronteradecristo.org/
