Does your ABA company create content and run ads on platforms beyond Google? People searching Google represent a small, competitive piece of the market, since people searching Google typically have higher intent to purchase. Google knows it, so it raises minimum bids, and your competitors know it, so they're all bidding and creating content on the same terms. It gets messy, fast. But a sizable percentage of your potential clients and staff aren't browsing Google.... Instead, they're on social media--from Meta, Reddit, to forums on websites. This is a very important read: Google quietly testing "Message Multiple" through LSAs and offering zero transparency to advertisers. This means, while you may think you are paying for a phone call from a prospect, you really are just one of four competitors getting a message.... and you have NO IDEA how much each of those different leads costs you. If you are an LSA advertiser, this is a must read (and also... track your economics for LSAs very very carefully.

So Google isn't killing third-party cookies after all? https://lnkd.in/gGGwXGwi Does this mean the cookieapocalypse has been canceled? Well... I don't think so. While Google's shy on specifics, my take on this is that Google lost a ton of credibility by continually switching horses on 3P tracking alternatives. As a result, nobody actually adopted their latest iteration. As a result, they had to kill their turn-off-cookies deadline and scramble to find yet ANOTHER option. (Aside: This flip-flopping is systemic at Google and is worth a post of its own.) Also worth noting that Google was seeing publishers lose about 20% of their revenue by switching to this new model, and buyers were seeing even worse results. https://lnkd.in/gTDE75N2 https://lnkd.in/g2qHAG-c That's bad for Google since they're a big player in BOTH the demand-side and supply-side of advertising. If everyone else is losing 20 - 50% of their value, Google stands to lose market share in addition to revenue. Luckly, Google owns the dominant web browser, so they have the (technical) ability to do basically whatever they want. For advertisers, what does this mean? Well, Chrome's safe. So that helps on the desktop side and non-Apple mobile devices. But I don't think this will last long. The EU is already looking for reasons to break up Google. And now Chrome is transparently a leg in Google's advertising trifecta: supply-side, demand-side, and now client-side. (Another aside: This has been happening for a while, and is not a small part of why Chrome has gotten progressively slower as its development focus has shifted from performance/security.)
