Good to see Julie Sweet and Jensen Huang explain the collaboration of NVIDIA and Accenture on Gen AI's next wave: its large scale use by enterprises. Jensen said: "We need a transformer, somebody who is the connecting fabric between our technology and customers and their business impact. And that's Accenture." Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Stanford Accelerator for Learning summit, which brought together 400 thought leaders in education technology—including educators, researchers, funders, and innovators. Kudos to Isabelle Hau and her team for orchestrating such an inspiring event. Few Key Takeaways and Observations: 1. Teacher Empowerment is Paramount: Successful EdTech tools are the ones that have placed Educators in the driver seat. Technology must support, not replace, educators. At Merlyn Mind, we believe teachers are the central force driving student engagement and learning experiences in classroom. 2. Responsible AI - Now a Standard Expectation: AI conversations have evolved beyond mere discussion of safety risks and more towards effective AI. My optimistic belief is that what was a hot topic in 2023 has now become a baseline requirement. At Merlyn Mind, we've proactively integrated responsible AI practices into our product development process. 3. Leverage data to assist: Vast amounts of data are available on Learners. AI presents great opportunities to leverage learner data to provide useful and actionable insights. By understanding interaction patterns and learning styles, we can create personalized experiences that support educators, parents, and students. 4. Evidence-based Research for Rapid Innovation: Traditional peer-reviewed research can't keep pace with new tools that are being developed. A Demanding, Perfectionist with a Singular Clear Vision - that is absolutely what you want from a leader or coach if you value doing great things. Great things are hard and staying focused on that singular clear vision is critical, and a leader keeping you focused can feel like/is a demanding perfectionist. It's easy to paint "Demanding, Perfectionist" as a negative traits, but it's what you want pushing you and others if you want to do great things. My first experience of this was our rowing coach for the University of Washington. UW Rowing is a world class program with shelves full of National titles and Olympic medal teams and athletes. Our UW rowing freshman coach was Bob Ernst - his job was to be demanding and drive perfection into all aspects of what we did. He had (has) an amazing balance of driving you, challenging you and leading you... and rowing hurts.. a lot... his job was to train us to bury pain deeper and deeper and push through to go harder, faster. Each time we were sure we were heading to the Boat house after a long and tough practice, thinking we were done... and he would say "turn em around lets go back out!" .. I hated it... but loved what it did for me and us as a team... we went Undefeated.... He was my first demanding perfectionist leader... . I would have done anything for coach Bob and the lessons i learned are core to who i am ... the journey was tough, we needed his focused demanding perfectionism to drive us and success. Since those days, if you've worked with me you've been frustrated by my demanding approach to push you beyond the obvious approach and force the interesting and unique approach, as that is what it takes to break out of the noise. Yet we have had great cultures with amazing people and we all grew together personally ... as well as the 10 companies growing into success and exits!
