“Legacy planning” hopefully will continue to replace “estate planning”. Wealtholders deeply care about passing family values down every bit as much or more than traditional estate planning focus. Why does this matter? → ATC equips high schoolers with professional skills for high-demand, high-wage careers → Funding builds pathways for students pursuing healthcare professions → Addresses projected DC healthcare professional shortages by 2030 American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten notes: "This grant comes at the right time for the right opportunity. We need to create the next generation of nurses, surgical techs, radiology techs, respiratory techs, and more as we work to fill 4 million open national healthcare positions by 2031." The pilot program's growth is impressive: → Student enrollment doubled in one year → The first cohort earned over $882K worth of college credits These results show what happens when local government, educational institutions, and industry leaders collaborate. They've identified education and career trajectory issues and are tackling them head-on. Long-term public-private collaborations like this pave the way for smoother school-to-career transitions. On November 8th each year, we celebrate "Science, Technology, Engineering and Math" or STEM, to help inspire students to get excited about these fields and the many different career paths available in these specific fields. Morgan Stanley has a STEM Robotics Program that teaches students the foundation of coding and robotics. "Our STEM Robotics Program introduces students to coding and robotics under the mentorship of Morgan Stanley technologists from diverse STEM backgrounds," said Madeline Hutchinson, Global Head of Technology Philanthropy at Morgan Stanley. While April was undoubtedly a weak month for overall retail buying, flows into levered products stayed elevated, pointing to sustained risk-seeking behavior among mom-and-pop traders in the US. Regulators think they are doing good. The outcome, however, is generally the opposite of the intent. The 3.48 hours per resident day staffing rule has just been finalized for nursing homes. This will have the effect of shutting down single-entity non-profits captained by local or religiously affiliated boards who do not have the resources and also rural communities (who will use the exemption until it burns off). As such, there will be less supply of care while the demand for it is only increasing which will probably put a higher burden on emergency care sourced at acute care hospitals. https://lnkd.in/eA5TxQDU
