I know I'm a bit of a stuck record on this, but it's worth reiterating since I do see expectations still mismatching with reality: LLMs CANNOT do formal reasoning. Apple researchers recently published a paper that describes their detailed findings on this. Gary Marcus highlights some interesting aspects, such as introducing irrelevant new information can cause mistakes to occur. https://lnkd.in/gN5i4KtU The solution? Well, at least a partial: always delegate any actual formal reasoning to a tool that can be relied upon to determine the actual correct answer.

From a manager standpoint, it's not always easy to track was is being done in the organization, and what you don't know about, and might need to. wITH Akooda this problem is solved! After getting a demo, I can safely say this product is aamzing. Go ahead and try it!

As you may be aware Meta's #Llama3 has been released. The best / most succinct overview I've seen of the release is by Andrej Karpathy on Twitter: https://lnkd.in/eH-2qbK5 Noting that the sequence length has been increased to 8,192 tokens, which is still relatively small compared to modern standards (e.g., GPT-4 at 128K tokens). And, while the inclusion of non-English tokens is a positive step, the 5% ratio is still quite low, making Llama 3 primarily an English-focused model. #ai #enterpriseai #llm

The New York ecosystem for dual-use technology is small but strong and growing rapidly. Thanks to companies like Decisive Point and @a16z who continue to support the community with networking events for founders, investors, and community members. More and more founders are recognizing the value in partnering with the DOD as a strong way to support the country's national security interests while hopefully decreasing the tax burden on citizens regarding government spend as commercially available technology becomes more available and affordable for government organizations.
