Don’t Sleep on the Two-Week Natural Gas Buying Window Alert! 7/12/24 - Energy Update We hope you heeded the advice to be proactive in preparing for the buying window that has swung open over the last few weeks. Now is the time to take full advantage as prices are heavily discounted from only one month ago. Furthermore, some factors are signaling we are at the bottom of the drop, so now is the time to buy! Bollinger Band The Bollinger bands are on the decline, providing support at $2.09 and resistance at $3.09. Current trading at $2.29 is trading in the lower half of the band placing upward pressure. Directional Band The upward directional band was snapped with a downward directional band roaring onto the scene with authority. While the downward band is well established, multiple flirtations with the bottom may be signaling the end of a reign. Resistance (Support) The current resistance value is $2.59 which is in steep decline. The value is placing upward pressure on prices. Tests While we’ve seen four failed bottom band tests over the last two weeks alone, the stall in the decline over the last week is signaling the drop may have found its bottom mitigating the risk of an imminent test. Fundamentals We had what we could call our first “normal” storage injections over the last two weeks which is certainly a contributing factor to the decline in prices. The seesaw for price direction rests squarely on storage injections directly impacted by weather. We’re sitting in a fairly comfortable fundamental position right now, but the playground ride could teeter either way before the end of summer. What’s Next? Summer heat is still the “hot” topic (see what I did there?). While we’ve seen a temporary reprieve from the sweltering heat, more is to come in the two-week forecast with the dog days of summer still ahead. I believe prices will once again trend up in the next few weeks and if August brings the heat, look out if you’re in the kitchen! Below are the weekly numbers for review:   The EIA weekly storage release reported an injection of 65 bcf compared to the expectation of an injection of 55. The injection was larger than the five-year average injection of 57.   Today prices have increased, currently trading at $2.29, up $0.03 on the day.   Week-on-week prices have decreased from $2.32 for a -$0.03 net impact.   Month-on-month prices have decreased from $3.12 for a -$0.83 net impact.   We can partner with you to make informed, educated decisions to protect your energy procurement. “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying” How many times as a professional have you heard this from those you work with? The fact of the matter is it is inevitable, you will at some point work with people that feel the need to cheat in order to succeed. Sometimes these people will even rise to the top momentarily and you may feel the need to do the same. Don’t, it may be tempting in the short term but in the long term it will cost you very important developmental skills to your craft. Success isn’t a destination, it is how you operate day by day and if you cheat you voluntarily give up success. Remember, extreme ownership is key in your development and don’t give in to the temptation of cheating.

Wake Up! It’s Time to Buy Natural Gas!!! 7/18/24 - Energy Update The bears have convinced natural gas to go into hibernation early this year, but you need to take some action before you follow the pack into the cave. Prices have crumbled into an enticing lull, and it would be just a shame if this buying opportunity were missed. PLEASE take a moment to consider your options as a buyer as summer volatility has been wonky and very unpredictable. We’re looking at one of those “no-brainer” opportunities here. Bollinger Band The Bollinger bands are on a steep decline, providing support at $1.92 and resistance at $2.92. Current trading at $2.07 is comfortably trading in the lower half of the band. Directional Band The well-formed downward band is continuing to apply pressure to the descent. Logics reveal we are nearing the end of the drop, but there is still some room for continued losses. Resistance (Support) The current resistance value is $2.42 which is in steep decline and will be a barrier for a price climb when value levels out. Tests Trading has been rubbing shoulders with the bottom band for three weeks now without a single successful Bolinger band test and the directional band is supporting this continuation. Trading, by nature is close to a bottom band test, but the directional band is mitigating the risk. Fundamentals Storage injections are normalizing due to weather normalization which is guiding the decline in prices. The seesaw for future price direction rests squarely on storage injections directly impacted by weather. Natural gas has shifted to fundamentally soft, but don’t sleep on the lull as August heat will play a significant role in direction. What’s Next? We expect to see prices begin to level out in the $2.00 range. From there, August weather will play a critical role in price direction. A hot August will push prices into a climb while a seasonal to mild month will continue to the suppression. Considering either scenario, current prices are appealing if you are a buyer. Now would be a great time to take a few minutes to review your current situation and options to secure supply.
