The roller coaster called #Observability: At #Freshservice we are heavily invested in IT Operations and a key pillar is quick #RCA that ensures healthy software and SRE peace of mind. In the past, there has been consolidation of #AIOps players with very few stand alone solutions. (Moogsoft acquired by Dell Technologies, OpsRamp acquired by HP, Sumologic by Francisco Partners, Epsagon acquired by Cisco, StackState by SUSE and more). This begs the question of whether AIOps is a sustainable business independently. At the same time, we observe seemingly successful AIOps plays as part of an Observability platform (Splunk, Datadog, Cisco, New Relic, Dynatrace and more). However, the observability space is fragmented with leading vendors rarely capturing more than 20% market share due to initiatives like OpenTelemetry and the focus of cost optimisation by customers. We at Freshworks predominantly use open source options. I do believe that AIOps is ripe for disruption by AI native companies where the solution is not around data mgmt. but insights and #RCA. They work with telemetry data and other relevant data information to provide context-aware analysis, use genAI (SLM/LLM) to normalise, label and correlate alerts and at the same time ingest only minimal relevant telemetry data (disrupting pricing too) thus solving for insights and not data storage. Moreover, the training period to provide relevant insights is minimal.
