We’re proud to have served one of the nation’s top custom packaging designers and manufacturers. Since 1986 Fastkit has been producing custom binders, corporate kits, packages, books and with services like die-cutting, foil stamping, spot UV, silk screening and more, they do just about everything at their state of the art 50,000 square foot manufacturing warehouse located in Miami, FL. CHALLENGES🤯 💰Expensive maintenance costs with constant burning out of metal halide light bulbs *MH bulbs take up to 15 minutes to reach 90% of their full light output or run up time and need to be replaced approximately every 8 months. 💰Expensive operating costs including cooling down of the facility *When fully lit, the metal halide bulb will reach an approximate temperature of 2000° Fahrenheit! *1,000 watts per bulb × 66 fixtures = 66,000 Watts 💰-Metal halide bulbs have a very low Color Rendering Index (CRI) not higher than 70/100 *The measurement of light in relation to how it affects the appearance of color, of course VERY important in print and manufacturing. SOLUTIONS 😎 ♻️Maintenance costs were reduced at Fast Kit by switching to a 200 watt LED UFO highbay fixture that offers a 5 year warranty. ♻️LEDs don't produce heat and are cool to the touch. The LED highbay used has an operating temperature of -40° to 122°Farenheit versus the existing metal halide 2000°Farenheit! ♻️The wattage energy consumption was cut from 66,000 watts to only 13,000 watts with the newly installed fixtures! ♻️ CRI was increased to a 90/100, adding benefits to this print manufacturing warehouse space like higher color accuracy, error prevention, increased productivity and a safer work environment. Reflecting on how trade show planning has evolved, here's a comparison of old methods versus new strategies that we're considering for next year: Old Ways: Mass Marketing: Previously, we cast a wide net hoping to attract as many attendees as possible. Static Displays: Our booths were static, focused more on aesthetics than interaction. After-the-Fact Analysis: We often waited until after the event to review what worked and what didn’t. New Ways: Targeted Marketing: Now, we use data-driven insights to target specific industries and interests, increasing the quality of interactions. Interactive Booths: We're planning to incorporate more interactive elements like virtual reality demos and live polls to engage visitors. Real-Time Feedback: With the help of technology, we aim to gather and analyze attendee feedback during the event, allowing for immediate adjustments. Like other forecasters, NRF expects the primary contributor of overall retail sales growth will be online shopping - which are included in the total and will increase more significantly between 8% and 9%. Great perspective from Frank Romano on WhatTheyThink today about drupa – no. 1 for printing technologies and trade shows in the printing industry in general! Frank places drupa 2024 in historical perspective. He tracks and compares attendance and number of exhibitors over the last 24 years. Although the number of exhibitors has remained over 1,600, the number of attendees has dropped from 450,000 to 170,000. It is still a substantial and significant audience.
