  • AUTOMATED ADJUSTMENT OF CLUSTER POLICY

    Filed US WO2012158241

The automatic adjustment of policy within a cluster that includes a set of virtual machine servers (e.g., virtualization nodes). Each of the virtual machine servers has a server-specific hypervisor running thereon and may also execute one or more and potentially many virtual machines. Upon detecting that the set of virtual machine servers in the cluster has changed, the cluster policy is automatically adjusted to accommodate the change. As an example, a cluster policy may be changed such that…

As an example, a cluster policy may be changed such that the changed set is considered when assigning new virtual machines to given virtual machine servers within the set. As another example, a store replication policy, in which a store is replicated across multiple virtual machine servers in the cluster, may be adjusted to account for the changed set of virtual machine servers.
