The Office of Management and Budget issued new guidance last week modernizing FedRAMP to support federal agencies' adoption of secure commercial cloud services. Some of the updates include establishing FedRAMP within GSA, expanding authorization paths, and driving automation to streamline the process. What does enterprise architecture look like? At the IBM TechXchange keynote, Dinesh Nirmal, SVP of Product at IBM, highlighted several key components of enterprise architecture. His prediction set the tone for the conference: “GenAI will disrupt and reconstruct every application and process running the enterprise. But it cannot do that without leveraging your existing investments.” That’s where IBM’s advantages come in with their domain expertise in the current landscape. Here are my key takeaways from Day 2’s keynote: ✅ Two Core Areas Where GenAI Plays a Key Role: 1. Disrupting software development: Modernizing existing applications faster. 2. Line of business automation: Enabling business units to move more quickly. ✅ Two Things That Matter Most in Enterprise: 1. Applications: Serve as the central hub connecting various business functions and processes. Key elements to consider: cost, risk, resiliency, resource management, observability, and monitoring. 2. Data Management: Utilizes tools like ETL, Catalogs, Data Products, and Monitoring for efficient data handling. ✅ What Connects Data with Applications: 1. Middleware 2. Kafka 3. Messaging 4. API Management 5. iPaaS ✅ Five Core Things Line of Business Should Automate: 1. Workflow (WF): Streamlining business processes. 2. Process Mining (PM): Analyzing processes for optimization. 3.
