I had a very interesting question posed to me tonight ... When I first decided to launch Proof Logistics Group , there were plenty of voices around me—and not all of them were encouraging. It’s funny, though, how those who’ve built something from scratch, the ones who’ve pushed through their own challenges, rarely have anything critical to say about someone else’s ambitions. It’s about the willingness to learn, to put in the effort without knowing exactly how it’ll all play out. I had years of experience in logistics but running my own company? REPOWR Market Update: - FL trailer demand is holding steady with roughly the same volume of trailers reserved WoW. Demand for trailers in PA heading to the Midwest and Southeast is up ~100% compared to the beginning of the month. Trailers moving east out of CA (specifically Ontario) are also on the rise, following the FreightWaves OTVI.ONT ticker in lock step. - MTD daily rates are following spot pricing for vans and flatbeds very closely, but reefer pricing is acting a bit inversely to spot reefer pricing in the aggregate. We view this as a potential leading indicator for confidence in reefer freight heading into produce and food & beverage season. - Avg. rental lengths are hovering around 28 days. Continuing to see this trend down as carriers are working through the trough of the freight market. We believe rental lengths trending upward will be a signal of a strengthening freight market. The recent cargo theft from a train in Chicago highlights the growing challenges facing railroads, shippers, intermodal dray providers, and communities in securing interchanges. With targeted hits on specific containers, this incident underscores the need for collaborative solutions to address insider threats, law enforcement shortages, and the inadequate punishments tied to non-FTZ cargo thefts.   As noted in Ari Ashe’s article yesterday via the Journal of Commerce, where Sgt. Jason Moore said, securing cargo interchanges in key hubs like Chicago and Memphis requires a unified effort across all stakeholders.
