Bond pricing and treasury yields are flat as treasury yields sit on new lows awaiting Fed commentary later today. The U.S. 10 Year Treasury yield is currently 4.103%, just below the open at 4.15%. Investors remain hopeful for clues about the interest rate outlook. The Fed will release their decision and write up at 2pm ET and then Fed Chairman Powell will have his press conference at 2:30pm ET. ADP employment released at 8:15 am ET and was forecasted at 150,000 job adds which is the same as the previous reading for June. ADP employment came in at 122,000, missing the mark and was noted as the smallest increase in jobs since January of this year. Pending home sales will also be released this morning at 10am ET. Market participants will be closely watching any revisions to the Fed’s statement as we near September, where many believe the chance of the first rate cut is almost certain. Jobs data this week could help shape the direction moving forward with initial jobless claims and the latest Unemployment report still looming this week. Jobs data that misses the mark by a good margin could prompt the Fed to move faster or with a larger cut if economic conditions appear to be worsening rapidly. Mortgage rates will likely print flat to slightly better this morning all else constant.
