We celebrate the passage of the Salary Wage Transparency Act as a significant step forward for Massachusetts. With the New York State budget passed, today the SUNY Board of Trustees announced the additional allocation of $114M from the enacted state budget and how that money will be used to best support #SUNY State-Operated Campuses. The increase in funding will provide well-deserved salary increases that reflect collective bargaining agreements with $102M out of the $114M being used to support faculty and staff at our state-operated campuses; $4.5M for additional internship experiences; $4M to support research; and a reduction of mandatory fees for graduate student workers. Last year’s $163M increase in operating aid made it possible for SUNY to increase access to mental health services, support students with disabilities, increase student-paid internship experiences, expand research endeavors, and address campus food insecurities. These ongoing investments will allow SUNY to continue to offer high-quality education and support to our students.   SUNY is immensely grateful to Governor Kathy Hochul and the State Legislature for their continued commitment to higher education.
