Really interesting take on the state of B2B marketing. Those of us who've been practicing for a while know that reductionist thinking and the overwhelming demands for immediate results has left most marketing teams ill-prepared to evolve forward on their own. I dare you to read this and tell me it's wrong.

I’ve gotten 8 inbounds from CMOs in the last week. What are they asking me for? …… Content help “Do you have a really good content writer you’d recommend?” “I need to create so much content this quarter I need some extra help” I’m going to venture and say scaling content production (volume and speed) is one of the top priorities CMOs are grappling with! 💡 (Myself included 🙋🏻) #content #marketing

Over 300 developers, marketers and business leaders shared their thoughts on video usage in this independent survey. The top takeaways: a) it's increasingly hard to create video variants for different channels and devices, b) user generated content remains critical to showcasing brand authenticity, improving engagement, and increasing SEO, and c) if video publishing took less than an hour, this community would absolutely increase their usage of video to drive engagement.

Should you be investing in new buyer enablement content or optimizing your old one? I've been noticing that may teams don't get a lot of support with the pre-launch and the post-launch parts of content rollout. If you know that the lead magnet / report / resource bundle is bringing in the right prospects (and you would like to see more of them), then it might make sense to optimize at least these elements: >> landing page >> nurturing sequence for new downloads >> recurring promotional posts on socials It's less of a heavy lift that building a new asset from scratch, so seems like an easy win - assuming you know which buyer enablement assets are working. What do you think? Do you do content funnel maintenance and optimization? If yes, what are the outcomes? If not, why not?

There is no hiding the fact I hate #LeadScoring, it's been for too long the silver bullet of sales and marketing alignment, and I'm yet to hear a single #Marketo customer say: It's working and adding value. For me it only works if you have 1000s of leads ingressing per week and 10 sales people. But even then... As campaign planning and strategy sessions are underway for 2025, I'm curious: What piece of advice has shaped the way you approach lead generation campaigns? I love data and strategizing lead generation campaigns. When I'm passionate about a topic, it's hard to stop the momentum - I want to share all the information, as quickly as I can. But the best piece of advice I received over the years is this: Simplicity matters. Less is more.
