💣 Failure is an essential and necessary part of developing resilience and coping strategies through growth experiences. In some parts of North America, it's practically a badge of honor. When interviewing people for a leadership role on my team, I always ask them to tell me about their biggest fail or miscalculation from their career. If they have really failed and learned something from it, it will come through in how they talk about the experience. It takes a mature person to talk openly about a failure and admit mistakes. If they say they can't think of any example or they never failed before, they either haven't taken risks or have strived for perfection and are unwilling to admit it. If you truly have a career or decision fail, you remember it. This is how great leaders are built. Not failing means not growing. If their answer focuses inward on something that only impacted themselves (a somewhat common answer is that they took the wrong job for more money and later regretted it), this may indicate a heavy self or inward focus. The best learning from failure comes when the impact extends beyond yourself and makes you accountable to your team, your clients, your family, or someone you have to look out for as part of your working life. It's worth mentioning that some cultures avoid recognizing or talking about failure at all to "save face" and protect images. As globalization rises and more cross cultural teams arise, this could inhibit the long term integration of these cultures and teams into global organizations. Bottom line: Set aspirational goals and strive for better. You may miss sometimes, but you'll be a better leader for it. #FailFast #Leadership #EarnYourGreatness

Creating the skilled talent supply, to meet the new demand, is always the big challenge. So, who is qualified to train and mentor local job seekers in each of these locations? It's a key gating factor that determines success. "Today, the Biden-Harris Administration will announce funding for 12 Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs (Tech Hubs) to accelerate the growth of innovative industries." The Tech Hubs program is bringing innovation to every region of the country, creating new jobs, and ultimately supporting economic development in previously underinvested areas, as part of President Biden’s 'Investing in America' agenda. The $504 million in funding awarded to these twelve Tech Hubs will position American workers, businesses, and communities to lead the industries of the future, such as semiconductors, clean energy, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and more, strengthening national and economic security.
