Yet another study finds a pot of gold at the end of the #energytransition rainbow! In this case - $3 billion in savings to Illinois ratepayers (families, small businesses, and everything else) from 8.5 GW of #energystorage. That only scratches the surface, however. The study shows the "softer" benefits - reliability, reduced emissions, and the economic jolt - total $12-28 billion, well above the total cost. Here's the catch - all the intelligence we have at Clean Energy Associates (CEA) shows that while there is a massive global oversupply of lithium-ion batteries domestic supply will remain constrained through at least 2028. Thanks again to the team at Veriten for having me on the COBT Podcast to discuss the alarming state of energy policies in the U.S. If you haven’t checked it out, please do. We discuss the issues in states like California, New York, and those in New England, where the war on natural gas and critical infrastructure projects are driving energy prices through the roof, putting businesses at risk and increasing the likelihood of devastating brownouts and blackouts.   As we discussed, American families need our political leaders to take the politics out of energy policy. This is a fundamental issue that affects every single American, regardless of party affiliation. While the U.S. has been a global leader in emissions reduction, our current trajectory threatens to make energy unaffordable and unreliable.   Politicians who fail to adopt a sensible approach to energy should not be in office. It’s time for voters (families, business owners!) to make our voices heard.
