What's the role of B2B Sales? Helping your prospects and customers get unstuck. That means: - unstuck in diagnosing root causes of frustrations - unstuck in recognizing threats and opportunities - unstuck in visualizing beneficial outcomes - unstuck in overcoming their self-limiting beliefs and biases - unstuck in managing change and overcoming resistance - unstuck in architecting appropriate decision making frameworks - unstuck in settling for mediocrity - unstuck in identifying and focusing on priorities That in turn means that YOU must get UNSTUCK from your propensity to talk about you, your company, your products and your services. Nothing connects the dots directly from you to any of those obligations you have to customers. Here's the hard part. You can only do that successfully if you understand and empathize with their business and the range of issues they must address. That requires business acumen, curiosity, broad reading, professional development, humility and confidence. What's the most important role on a B2B Sales team? Sure, that's a trick question. You need great reps. Great sales operations. Great sales enablement, and more. It's a team. Indirect Channel Sales are simultaneously a powerful business force multiplier and a frustrating business challenge. It's really hard to align the interests and incentives of two very different companies, but it's not impossible.
