The #coffee prosumer market is evolving. "#Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world. In fact, in the National Coffee Association USA’s most recent 2024 National Coffee Data Trends report, 67% of US adults said they drank coffee the previous day – marking a 20-year high for #coffeeconsumption in the country. The report also found that US specialty coffee consumption was up by 7.5% on the previous year, with #espresso-based drinks leading the trend. So as the global specialty coffee market grows, so too does consumer knowledge and interest – especially alongside a huge focus on #consumereducation following the pandemic." I am more than my brand… And more than my business, my job and my family We humans have a tendency to put people in boxes, these boxes help us organize our relationships our expectations just like the help us organize our data. Meeting some of my entrepreneur friends at events inspired me to write this post. I have been a bit quiet since I started the new role at Canadian Food Innovation Network - new role new challenges. My role change has left some people confused about the future of Good Food For Good. I wanted to share today that Good Food For Good is in the healthiest state that it has ever been. We have been working on our bottom line and have made phenomenal progress. We navigated through some tough times like many in the industry. We have learned some lessons that have allowed us to create an organization that is not solely dependent on its founder. I am really proud of that! I joined CFIN for personal growth. I wanted to learn more and make a difference in lives of other entrepreneurs and the opportunity at CFIN was too hard to resist. In my new role I get to be creative, creating tools to help entrepreneurs instead of creating products. I am leading a team that’s driven to helping entrepreneurs in the Food Industry & we are working on a massive goal of uniting Canadian Food Sector to enhance Innovation & productivity. https://lnkd.in/guWHQbA6 - Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13) has introduced what would be a paradigm-shifting legislative package intended to improve the dietary health of Americans by banning high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and certain color additives in foods produced in the U.S. The legislative package includes two distinct acts: the Stop Spoonfuls of Fake Sugar Act and the Do or Dye Act. The Do or Dye Act targets toxic food dyes like Red No. 40 and Yellow Nos. 5 and 6. There is already mounting pressure to place further scrutiny on these chemicals, some of which have been restricted in the EU and elsewhere. The primary focus of the Stop Spoonfuls of Fake Sugar Act is to restrict the use of HFCS, which is often alleged to promote obesity and other chronic health issues. Does this go to far in the fight against #addedsugar - or not far enough?

Statista provides a great "wake up" for foodies in the US, where "local" often appears to be all the rage.....except that it matters more in most other countries! From key players like Lasino S.A. dropping a staggering 67%, to Supermercados Peruanos S.A. falling by 58%… it’s clear the landscape is shifting. But while some are fading away, others are thriving. Premium Brands - Perú S.A.C. saw a massive 258% increase, and new contender Ontario Coffee S.A.C. is making its move. Compañía Nacional de Chocolates de Perú - Grupo Nutresa leading with a 42% market share and growing by 31%. When it comes to origin countries, Colombia still holds the crown with 54% of imports, even with a minor 4% drop. Meanwhile, U.S. imports collapsed by 67%, but Canada is up 67%, shaking things up.
