🚀 Streamlining Complexity: From 408 Button Variants to 1 🚀 We faced a challenge with our legacy Design System—408 button variants, each covering various sizes, states, and purposes. Managing this complexity was no small feat. 🌟 The Solution: We are rebuilding our Design System from the ground up. By leveraging Figma variables, we created a new, streamlined system. 🔧 The Result: As an example, we have a single, highly customizable button component with auto layout, covering all states and types. This new system not only simplifies our design process but also replaces the 408 variants with just one component! Adobe really said, "Let’s make design tools so advanced that even we don’t know what they can do anymore." 😂 I mean, Project Turntable lets me spin my 2D designs in 3D like they’re on a lazy Susan (mind-blowing, right?). And Project Scenic? It’s basically my AI sidekick, handling camera angles and layouts so I can look like I know what I’m doing. These updates are making my job as a designer/artist feel more like sorcery. Hey Figmates & Design System Nerds! I'm looking for some inspiration around the topic of Right to Left support for design systems. I'm investigating how a component library can support RTL. Ideally without bloating the number of variants, if we can help it. The problem to solve is that Figma doesn't have a native feature for flipping elements and layouts around, beyond recognising RTL languages. This is relatively well supported in code, but less so in Figma it seems. I've found a community plug-in called "RTL Layout" that may aid me, if you and your company have solved this, please feel free to share any resources that may help me out!
