Leaders, today I want to talk about flipping the script. As a DoD (#Army) #Coach, I attend monthly meetings. This month featured keynote speaker Jeremy May, MAOL, ACC. He was awesome and wow, I engaged. Jeremy talked about change management (CM). His message resonated with me so much. In 2018, I learned change management from Dr. George Sharp as I went through Stockton University Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. I used Kotter's CM as one of my frameworks for research. What I loved about Jeremy's presentation is, (1) it validated the value of my research (2) everything is interconnected (3) validated the value of a program I designed days prior, to which I will launch in the next 60 days. You see, change as Heraclitus eluded to, is the only constant. Yet, so many people and organizations fail to make change. Inserting Kotter's CM eight steps, which is a valuable framework for leaders to leverage when conducting Organizational change, while Jeremy introduced the individual mental stuckness that we all experience regarding change. combining the two becomes a superpower. Thank you Dr. Sharp for your gift of teaching me and thank you Jeremy for the gift of your presentation!

Transitioning from military to civilian life is a monumental shift, filled with both challenges and opportunities. From our pre-recruiting phase through our military career and even the transition readiness phase, we often hear about the wonderful value our military experience brings to the table. All Military Veterans, VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)   DBQs help collect necessary medical information to process your VA disability claims. You can use these VA forms to submit medical evidence from your health care providers to the VA when filling your VA claim. This information helps to support your claims for VA disability benefits. Please have your health care provider Doctor fill out and you submit the appropriate forms to the VA for your claimed conditions.   Find your medical DBQ's using this link: https://lnkd.in/en-zkhBB VA does not pay or reimburse any expenses or costs incurred while completing and/or submitting DBQs. In most instances, you're entitled to a no cost disability examination by the VA. In some instances, the VA may determine an additional disability examination is required to complete the claim. If an exam is scheduled, you must report for the examination (C&P). DBQ's are medical examination forms used to obtain important information for evaluating disability compensation and/or pension claims.  VA physicians use DBQs when performing C&P exams for VA disability. The purpose of a DBQ is to ensure that the physician performing the exam records all the information needed for VA to properly rate a disabled veteran’s conditions. Before you go to a VA C&P (Compensation and Pension) exam you need to print down the Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) for your medical condition before you see any Doctor performing C&P exam. Find your medical condition using link and answer all the question either by you or your doctor before your appointment. Carry in your completed DBQ with you to your exam and give it to the examiner. This is important for you to carry with you to your appointment! Also, Have dates and brief medical synopsis of relevant medical service record entries. Examiner might ask if they could have a copy to help them from digging through your military medical record. Practicing mindfulness, especially if you struggle with #PTSD, is very important in helping cope with unpleasant thoughts and emotions. There are many different tools out there that you can try. One great tool that you can start with is the Mindfulness Coach, which can be found at the link here - https://lnkd.in/g9HNhFcH Personally, I have been using Virtual Reality (VR) Assisted Therapy though Harvard MedTech. It has a called Vx Therapy and it has been helpful for me, alongside my hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Vx Therapy is a class 1 durable medical equipment (DME) that can be prescribed to #veterans at “no cost” through the VA. **Please note that not all VA providers are familiar with VR Vx Therapy. They may need additional information about this treatment and how to effectively prescribe it for your PTSD. If this is the case, please DM me, and I can send you some forms to take to your provider to help them easily prescribe and order Vx Therapy for you. Remember, you are not alone and there are different types of treatments/therapies out there that have evidence-based research supporting it, so don’t give up. Here to help and share my journey.

Great article on How To Become a Guardian for the next generation. Only clarification I would add: half of Guardians are civilians. So you can join as a military or civilian Guardian. No other military service is designed this way because no other domain is like space. And note that while STEM skills are coveted, the age of AI and quantum give renewed importance to the humanities.
