Solid advice from my guy Dave Anderson who transitioned from the #military to #recruitment to Slack sales at Salesforce When I was transitioning to recruitment I asked my mentor to teach me about boolean strings. I think things like that could be learned on the job But when you show up to an interview already capable of doing aspects of the job It shows your Eagerness Coachability Adaptability Resourcefulness Capacity to learn Your will and potential won’t be enough. 🔥🔥When are you retiring/ETSing?🔥🔥 Are you looking for your first role post military career? My advice is generally always the same! If you do these things, you increase your odds a ton! This is all 2nd to networking, always network and talk to as many people you know to let them know you are looking! People love helping! Know your audience, ensure you are on the proper Job boards for 2 reasons so you can easily be found by recruiters and to have job alerts set up for you to apply quickly. Don't forget recruiting is so much about timing, set up alerts and be the first to apply! Proper job boards is subjective; My opinion on job boards you should be on is: Indeed (great for local roles) Clearance Jobs (Great for cleared government roles and government contracting roles) LinkedIn-(Its all-encompassing  you should be on here and connect to the audience you want to work with for instance if you want to work in the Defense space, go on and connect with people with DOD companies who look to hire Veterans all the time!)
