Country Financial and agency owner, Alexis Cierra Holt, decided to share a wealth of wisdom with high school students across the country by sponsoring an essay contest to help them focus in on what it means to be money smart and college ready. Although her base is in Atlanta, Holt was able to spread her influence nationwide by connecting with Country Financial’s Chicago team to extend the contest to students at South Shore High School. While hundreds of students participated, student Joshua Williams was chosen out all of the entrants as the winner. In turn, Holt flew to Chicago to present Williams with a $1,500 scholarship check to be used in support of continued educational advancement. Holt, who is also a major label recording artist, serenaded a crowd of 200 or so students with a song from her soon to be released album.
