“[Insert any social media engagement metric] numbers aren't increasing, the marketing isn’t working” 👇 Most people on social media don't like and engage... they consume. I guarantee more people "like" your content than you think. This is the problem with metrics sometimes (and please trust, I am a data girly, I live and die by the data): 📈 Metrics have limitations. You will have your silent consumers, who consume content passively. They will still be influenced by the content even if they don't engage with it. BUT it's important to remember here: Frequency is key. Repeat exposure = familiarity. The more often a consumer sees your brand, the more likely they are to remember it. 👉 And studies show that people tend to develop a preference for things they are exposed to repeatedly. I always joke about how I learned Social Media Management and Community Management, simply from being chronically online as a teenager and into my college years. When I talk to other people in the industry whether social media or gaming-specific, about how I can stay aligned with internet culture, my answer is always the same: listen, analyze, and deconstruct. Platforms change. Algorithms change. Demographics change. You know what doesn't change? Understanding and seeing the trends when you listen.

HARD TRUTH: Your marketing isn't the problem. Your Instagram strategy isn't the problem. Your funky website isn't the problem. The problem is you haven't done the f*cking deep work on yourself. And yeah, I learned this the hard way. I once dropped $6K on a "guaranteed client-getting" cold email program. You know, one of those "just copy-paste this template and watch the money roll in" deals. Spoiler alert: It was about as effective as trying to sell ice to penguins. But hey—that's on me. You can't sell transformation if you haven't transformed yourself. Period. It's like trying to teach calculus when you still struggle with basic algebra. High-value clients aren't idiots. They can smell authenticity from a mile away, and they're not buying your perfectly curated social media feed or your "6-figure coaching blueprint". What Actually Works: • Master your craft first • Get results that speak for themselves • Build real expertise, not just pretty marketing funnels Want to attract premium clients? Stop obsessing over your marketing funnel and start obsessing over becoming someone worth hiring. (And trust me, that works way better than sending 100 cold emails to strangers who never asked for your help.) The most successful coaches/consultants I know spend way more time working on themselves than they do A/B testing their email sequences.

Yes, a social media manager is worth it because they can help curate social media posts, post on all your social media accounts, nurture your followers, and attract a targeted audience to your business to build your brand recognition, trust, authority, and increase sales.... Period!

Working in social media for awhile I've noticed something. I'm sure there's some really cool marketing word for this. But there are two types of content: 1) The content that boosts engagement - Comments - Likes - Shares 2) The content that converts - Sales calls - Inquiries - Purchases If you're really lucky you'll have a post every once in awhile that falls into both buckets. But usually it's one or the other. Both are extremely important! One is building trust and one is building your bank account. The funny thing is that often times the metrics you're seeing on others post might look super impressive but the conversion.. not so much. But other times you'll see a lower number of likes or comments but what you're not seeing is an inbox flooded with "I want to learn more" and "take my money" (okay not quite like that but kinda) So although social media is a great tool for gathering data on your audience it's not a great metric for the success of your business. Keep sharing your stories, messages and offers regularly and do your best to look at your analytics with a huge grain of salt.

Stop worrying about your identity as a writer. People worry about who they are as a writers before they write a single word. - Write about what you know. - Write about the thing you're learning. - Write about different ideas that captivate you. You'll find your voice, style, and identity as a writer the more you write. It's a process that requires time and input. Focus on the process and less on the outcome.
