Add Conversion Tracking to your Accelerate campaign

When you’re setting up your Accelerate campaign, you can choose to add existing conversions or create new conversions in the Conversion Tracking section. Accelerate is currently available for website visits and lead generation campaigns with single image ads.

Who can use this feature?

You must have super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and campaign manager access or higher on your ad account to create an Accelerate campaign. 

Step 1: Set up your data source

Before you add conversions to your Accelerate campaign, you’ll need to: 

To install your Insight Tag when creating your Accelerate campaign:

  1. When setting up your campaign, click the + Conversions button in the Conversion Tracking section. 

  2. Click Install Insight Tag at the top. If you’ve never created an Insight Tag before, you’ll need to agree to our Ads Agreement. After you read the Ads Agreement, click Agree and create

  3. Decide how you’ll install the Insight Tag. You can choose to manually add the code to your website or use a third-party tag manager to set up your Insight Tag. 

  4. If you choose to manually add the code to your website:  

    1. Confirm that Add code to website is selected at the top. 
    2. Click Copy to copy the Insight Tag code.  
    3. Enter your email address in the Email address box and click Done. We’ll send you the instructions on how to add the Insight Tag to your website. 
    4. Follow the instructions to add the Insight Tag code to your website.
  5. If you choose to use a tag manager: 

    1. Click Use tag manager at the top. 
    2. Hover over the tag manager you’d like to use and click Learn more to get instructions on setting up your tag manager.

Important to know

Keep in mind, for your conversions to count towards optimizations and reporting, you must install the Insight Tag on your website and it must have an Active status.

Step 2: Create or add a conversion to your campaign 

After you have a data source connected, you can now create a new conversion in Accelerate or add an existing conversion. 

Here's a tip

If you’re adding conversions when creating a campaign, we’ll automatically select conversions to associate with your campaign based on your conversion category and campaign objective selection. You can review, add, or remove conversions as needed.

  1. Set up your Accelerate campaign

  2. Click the + Conversions button in the Conversion Tracking section of your Accelerate campaign.

  3. If you have existing conversions:  

    1. Scroll down or use the search box to find a specific conversion. 
    2. Select the checkbox next to the conversions you’d like to add. We recommend choosing conversions with an Active status.
  4. If you need to create a conversion: 

    1. Click the Create URL conversion button. 
    2. Name the conversion and enter the URL you to track visits in and click Create
    3. Confirm that the checkbox next to the conversion is selected.
  5. After you’ve added all your conversions, click Apply
