Could #transparent #communications have avoided the CEO firing and employee mutiny plaguing #OpenAI? According to an OpenAI blog, CEO Sam Altman’s sacking was because "he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board." It is goes on to imply that the company's board of directors were not confident that Mr. Altman was keeping AI out of harms way, stating that the board is fully committed to the company's mission: “to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all humanity." We take no joy in proving Ellie Victor's insight that transparency is key in your #AI #positioning. Paraphrased from Ellie's Forbes Agency Council article: By owning the conversation, defining your position early, and being transparent about your AI position, you can have a big impact on the way AI is perceived by the people who matter most: your customers. Perhaps we should add "your board" to that insight. Curious what you think!

☎ 1997 is calling—on a Motorola flip phone—this National Entrepreneur's Day. Cheers to all the entrepreneurs who've taken us forward that we've had the pleasure of knowing and positioning! Our clients make it happen: https://lnkd.in/gvJz3CFy 💓
🚀 Happy National Entrepreneur’s Day! 🚀 When Nick Copping and I started ZOOM, we each carried Motorola StarTAC flip phones and our conference room was decked out with a Polycom spider phone and whiteboards that stretched wall to wall for big ideas. We were always drawn to cutting-edge tech and working with the coolest clients. It was also the year Jerry Maguire had us all saying, “Show me the money!” and the Macarena even had Al Gore crossing hands to shoulders 🕺 Fast forward to today: we hold meetings on that other Zoom, brainstorm with AI, and track insights in the cloud. But one thing hasn’t changed: the golden rule of entrepreneurship—listening. It’s been our North Star for understanding clients and adapting to markets. Cheers to the innovators, hustlers, and listeners. Shout out to those early entrepreneurs who bet on us! 🎉

So, how does world kindness relate to brand positioning? Stoic philosopher Seneca once said, “Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is to listen wholeheartedly.” At ZOOM, listening has been built into our methodology from day one. We listen to clients, their customers, partners, prospects and each other. Today, let’s celebrate the simple power of listening. #WorldKindnessDay #ListenFirst #BrandPositioning

😺 At ZOOM, we’ve been mastering the art of herding cats (a.k.a. teams) for years, and the secret to getting everyone to purr in harmony? DATA! Here’s the scoop: Marketing needs more than a plan; it requires organization-wide buy-in. Strategy must be as crystal clear as each team’s goals. Yet, studies show a staggering disconnect: 82% of employees think they’re aligned, but only 23% actually are. Talk about herding cats! 🐈 When we helped Snowflake, Databricks, and Nutanix align their strategies, the results were clear—real growth comes from clarity, not chaos. So, next time you're wrangling your teams, ask yourself: “Is our strategy ready for the entire org, or are we just herding cats?” 🐾 Tom Fishburne's post: https://lnkd.in/gZ5aTDbB #StrategicAlignment #Marketing #DataDrivenSuccess
