🤯 Nearly 300 Zendeskians in 15 countries spent almost 900 hours volunteering at 27 events during Zendesk's second-annual Social Impact Week earlier this month. 💜 Our Social Impact Week was a reminder of the power of collective action. Volunteering not only helps the communities we serve, but also brings us closer as a team, builds new skills, and boosts well-being. What in the world is Zennovate? Zennovate is Zendesk's annual hackathon, designed to encourage all company disciplines to participate and create something new, as a team. This is the second year my team has run Zennovate, and with the encouragement of our CEO Tom Eggemeier and CTO Adrian McDermott, we expanded Zennovate from Product Development only in 2023, to the whole company. To kick off our Zennovate event, we held “Ideas Week” with innovation keynote speaker Duncan Wardle, three regional Customer Fireside Chats, and three regional ideation workshops. We had fantastic participation across the globe with winners in three regional award categories: Customer, Innovation and Technical, as well as one overall winner and a People’s Choice award! Partnering with our Workplace Experience team made Zennovate (global, follow-the-sun event) a true hybrid experience. Thank you to all who helped/participated in Zennovate 2024, including our tech support, multiple hosts & facilitators, 12 regional judges, 19 mentors, Zentranet (intranet) team, internal comms and our 71 teams!
