Socio-Technical Architects | Delivering Transformative APIs

About us

Xolvio is a team of elite Socio-Technical Architects specializing in delivering transformative APIs through Supergraphs and Event-Driven Systems. We are known for delivering exceptionally high-quality, scalable software to world-famous brands at speeds other people don’t think possible. Our secret? We understand that only teams that align deliver APIs that matter. Using our socio-technical approach called Narrative-Driven Development, we ensure rapid delivery of quality software by aligning business and technology teams on what truly matters—and precisely how to build it. We are the only Professional Services partner of Apollo GraphQL and a Professional Services partner of Kurrent, (FKA Event Store.) We have delivered for scale-ups and Fortune 1000 enterprises including 2K Games, Audi USA, Ford Credit, T-Mobile, Wayfair, and more.

The more context moves upstream of development, the better. First, we saw TDD, moving the tests upstream. Then BDD, moving the understanding of expected behavior upstream. What comes next? Well, we've been waiting a while to find out. But in the age of AI, where context is king, it's time to take the next step. What's that then? Well, I'm working on it. 😉 But I'll be sharing my progress in public here as I go. So follow me here to find out.

  • ICYMI: Mike Astle's fun and informative talk from Apollo GraphQL's GraphQL Summit is now freely available to watch online in its full glory. Hear Mike explain how a "Socio-Technical" approach to Supergraph development is the surprisingly simple solution to many common pitfalls of enterprise API development. Mike also gives a quick intro of the Narrative-Driven Development approach that Xolvio uses to successfully scale a Supergraph across an organization. This is what building software was supposed to be like. More than 15 years ago, I joined a team at Sky that taught me that delivering software at extremely high speed AND high quality is possible. I've been experimenting with ways to get back to that dynamic ever since. One thing I know for sure is you can't have high quality or high speed if you don't have high-bandwidth communication. At Sky we were literally sitting in the same room together, paired shoulder-to-shoulder, and surrounded by all the context we needed to know what to build. Not so easy in our modern world of remote workers and distributed teams though, eh? Well, I believe it is still possible if you can create a shared source of truth for all the whole system, that's understandable by the whole team. And that's why I do what I do now. What's the highest-performance team you've ever worked in, and why?

For as long as we've known Sam, he's been obsessed by the idea of closing the gap between how business requirements are captured and evolved, the development process and how you can ensure quality. We were delighted that Sam could share his wisdom about how software engineering is and will change with the advancements of AI. If you're interested in innovative ways to improve the way software is developed, then this podcast is for you. The link is in the comment. Sam is busy inventing narrative-driven development. You can learn more about it here - https://lnkd.in/g8YTFA2s We love the way Sam describes the idea of a 'glue person'. We've come across people who play this role many times. Figuring out ways to alleviate, support and scale people like these is super important. We hope you enjoy the episode and find it helpful. #podcast #ai #software #narrative
