One of the many benefits of being a part of WISE — Women in Sports and Events Seattle Chapter is connecting with gamechangers. Mel Harrow our 2023 WISE Seattle Woman of Inspiration (WOI) award winner is one of those humans who is truly making waves in the sports and events community, and her dedication and passion are nothing short of inspiring. Check out some of the incredible initiatives she's been leading since winning: 🥇 Founded and launched the Our Space in Sport conference, collaborating with King County Play Equity Coalition, University of Washington Center for Leadership in Athletics, and Opal: Food+Body Wisdom to create a space for women and non-binary high school athletes. 🥇 Running practices with Seattle Pride Hockey Association and partnering with UW Women's Hockey to support and train athletes. 🥇 Held a prospect camp at UW, providing high schoolers and incoming collegiate hockey players with an opportunity to showcase and hone their skills. 🥇 Coming Soon: Co-hosting another Coaching Education Training for high school coaches in the greater Seattle area. Mel embodies the spirit of the Women of Inspiration program, celebrating today's trailblazers and paving the way for tomorrow's leaders. Her story is a testament to the power of dedication and community in driving positive change. Although Seattle is my new home and growing authentic connections takes time if you are in my Washington State/Seattle circle I would love for you to take a moment and consider nominating another trailblazer who deserves recognition.
