🌟 We believe a healthy environment is foundational to well-being. One of our key investment areas is creating and maintaining healthy environments for all. That's why we're excited to share news about a significant advancement in disability rights and equity. Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) recently applauded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for finalizing the rule titled "Discrimination on the Basis of Disability in Health and Human Service Programs or Activities." This rule strengthens protections for people with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Rep. Pressley, a long-time advocate for the disability community, emphasized the rule's importance: “This much-needed and long-overdue rule is a historic step forward that will help prevent discrimination for folks with disabilities and help them access healthcare and other services they need and deserve.” The Section 504 Final Rule: Clarifies and strengthens civil rights protections for people with disabilities. Addresses discrimination in medical treatment. Adds enforceable standards for accessible medical diagnostic equipment. Ensures accessible web content and mobile apps. Reflecting over fifty years of advocacy by the disability community, this rule helps protect people with disabilities from experiencing discrimination in any program or activity receiving HHS funding. Learn more about this crucial rule and join us in supporting a healthier, more equitable environment for all. 🔗 https://shorturl.at/oC10G #HealthyEnvironment #DisabilityRights #Equity #WardInfinity #InclusiveHealthcare
