    It’s been a week since we wrapped up the 2025 Building Products Customer Workshop, and now we’re almost two weeks away from the new year, and I’m still reflecting on the conversations, insights, and connections made during those two impactful days. We kicked things off by gauging the room, and the optimism about the future of the building products market was palpable. From Danushka Nanayakkara’s macro-economic insights to Abbe Will’s deep dive into DIY customer behaviors, the data shared gave us all a clearer picture of the opportunities ahead.     🔍 Just wrapped two intense days at the Building Products Customer Workshop in Nashville. The conversations happening behind closed doors about where our industry is headed? Mind-blowing. A few non-obvious patterns emerged that are reshaping building products in 2025: The Distribution Evolution: Traditional assumptions about how pros buy? They're being completely upended. The most successful manufacturers are redesigning their channel strategies based on actual contractor behavior, not historical patterns. The Technology Ecosystem Play: Fascinating discussions about how tool and material ecosystems are creating unprecedented contractor loyalty. The parallels to tech platform lock-in are striking. The Social Shift: The way contractors discover and evaluate new products has fundamentally changed. But not in the way most people think. (Hint: It's not about pretty photos) The Value-Based Future Contractors: revealed a surprising willingness to pay premiums - but only under specific conditions that most manufacturers haven't fully grasped yet. The R&R Opportunity: The data shared about renovation vs. new construction trends suggests a major market shift coming. Smart manufacturers are already repositioning. What struck me most? The gap between what manufacturers think contractors want and what they actually value is wider than ever. But here's the good news: The roadmap to bridge this gap emerged crystal clear over these two days. The manufacturers who get this right are going to win big in 2025.
