VaSHHRA is a valuable network of healthcare human resource professionals—a group of individual colleagues with centuries worth of combined healthcare human resource experience. Our mission is to lead, develop and support its members as they strive to attain their institutions’ goals through the delivery of outstanding human resource management. We believe every "one" counts and everyone can make a difference. History: In 1969 a group of hospital personnel directors met in Richmond to discuss the need for a state-wide personnel association. Out of that meeting (VAHPA) the Virginia Association for Hospital Personnel Administration was organized. Today our members represent over 85% of the hospitals, along with a number of long-term care and other health organizations in the state of Virginia. We are a Region 3 chapter of the national organization – The American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA). Benefits of Joining VaSHHRA: 1. Affordable membership: • Healthcare Member: One Year: $40/Two Years: $75/Three Years: $100 • Consultant Member: One Year: $75/Two Years: $125 • Student Member: One Year: $5 2. Educational Events/CEUs: We offer Online Webinars and in-person education events throughout all regions in Virginia. All events are free to members, and non-members attend for a small fee. VaSHHRA offers CEUs for PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP. 3. Annual State Conference: Connect with HR professionals in the healthcare industry from across the state at our daylong conference each year. 4.
