Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural Sunshine Harvest Farm Tour & Dinner event this week. We loved sharing US Solar's unique agrivoltaics project with our friends, partners, and fellow clean energy champions. The evening brought together a beautiful, diverse coalition of organizations and individuals who all share the common mission of making Minnesota a national leader in solar development. This event would not be possible without the collaboration of several partners. A huge thank you to the whole team The Food Group for all your work bringing this Big River Farms partnership to life. We would also like to recognize Natural Resource Services, Inc, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Great Plains Institute, and Institute on the Environment University of Minnesota. A note of gratitude for our guest speakers for the evening - Kazoua Berry and Sophia Lenarz-Coy from The Food Group. Lillian Otieno, MPH and Clarissa Hammond Levi from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. And a special shout out to Mateo Mackbee for their delicious menu and Lupulin Brewing LLC for the solar grown honey beer brewed specially for this event. And finally, a tip of the hat to Peter Schmitt, US Solar's agrivoltaics czar and our MC for the evening, in top form with the mic as usual.

We are delighted to see our friends and partners at the The Food Group recognized in this Sahan Journal article by Andrew Hazzard. The piece sheds important light on how gaining long term access to land is one of the most persistent barriers faced by emerging farmers aspiring to grow produce. US Solar is proud to be a leader on agrivoltaics projects that support land access, community development, and emerging farmers. The agrivoltaics project at Big Lake is among the first of its kind in Minnesota and one of only 35 agrivoltaics farm projects in the nation that grow crops. Last week the US Solar team from across the US gathered in Minneapolis to mark 10 years since we launched in 2014. The highlights from the past decade among a long list of accomplishments include: - 250M kWh delivered to Sunscription customers - 114 projects completed totaling over 235MW of solar capacity - In 2023 we released our very first corporate impact report. Look out for our 2024 Report for exciting new impact initiatives. The team came together for a week of team building, knowledge sharing, discussing near-term strategic priorities, volunteering, and festivities. 🎯 We had the chance to hear directly from our senior leaders on the wins and successes from the past year and the foundations being laid for years to come. 🏛 We heard a special keynote address from Rep. Patty Acomb, a long-standing champion for energy and climate issues, highlight how MN leads both regionally and nationally on clean energy. 🌱 We made time to volunteer with our partners at The Food Group to join farmers in weeding, harvesting, and packaging organic, locally grown produce. 🙌 And last but not least, we took the opportunity to get to know our team members, welcome new joiners, and celebrate a milestone year for US Solar.

US Solar is proud to sponsor the American Solar Grazing Association (ASGA)’s landmark documentary film on the transformative power of solar grazing. The film tells the poignant stories of farming families who are helping reshape and create a brighter future for both industries by raising sheep on solar farms across America. Among the projects and partnerships featured in this documentary is our USS Good solar garden in Stacy, MN where we work with Cannon Valley Graziers to graze sheep onsite. Watch the trailer and sign up for updates on the film premiere, screenings, and more: https://lnkd.in/gTP_s--K If you’re attending RE+ Anaheim, make sure to RSVP and join us for the exclusive world premiere on Monday September 9th! #ASGA #SolarGrazing #SolarGrazingDoc #Agrivoltaics
