“It is crucial that we are able to bring relief to those who need it, wherever they are,” stresses Lisa Doughten at the #SecurityCouncil briefing on #Ukraine. United Nations Relief Chief Tom Fletcher was at the Lebanon/Syria border earlier today, on the way to Damascus. "Behind the drama of what we're seeing on our screens are millions of human lives, people who want to live lives of dignity. These are the people we’re here for." - he says.

#Myanmar is facing a deepening humanitarian crisis that has spiraled since the military takeover in February 2021. With conflict spreading across the country and significantly escalating in the past year, civilians fear for their lives as they seek refuge, and their coping capacities are stretched to the limit. A staggering 18.6 million people require assistance in 2024. The United Nations and humanitarian partners are providing support to displaced communities in shelters and others in need, but persistent underfunding, insecurity and limited access severely hinder the response. As the impact of the crisis expands and increasingly upends the region and beyond, taking action is not a choice – it’s an urgent necessity. 📖 Read stories of resilience. 👇 More: https://bit.ly/4ivnfhY
