  • First in the world clinical trials are happening right here at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. Researchers are using a new approach of cell therapy for solid tumors that takes a patient's white blood cells through a process so that they can recognize and fight specific cancer cells in the body. Clinical trials help researchers determine if new tests or treatments are effective and safe, playing an important role in advancing healthcare and providing innovative solutions and hope to patients. At UC Health, our priority is the safety and well-being of our patients, offering support throughout every stage of their journey. • Hilary Debelak has turned his journey with multiple sclerosis (MS), muscular dystrophy (MD) and scoliosis into a powerful mission. After experiencing the benefits of integrative medicine firsthand, he wanted to help others access these powerful health practices to complement traditional treatments. With the support of friends and family, Hilary and his nonprofit, Strikeout MS, have raised over $250,000, helping the MS community thrive. Thanks to their efforts, therapies like yoga, Tai Chi, and art therapy are now accessible to those who need them most—often at no cost. • Channing Seideman has battled drug-resistant epilepsy most of her life and has become an advocate for finding a cure. This year, for Epilepsy Awareness Month, she and her family wanted to do something special to help raise awareness so her dad, Rob, reached out to Andrew Salzbrun, the co-founder and executive creative director of BLINK, whose own daughter, now 3, successfully battled severe epilepsy as an infant. Salzbrun worked his magic on the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute (UCGNI) building to shine a light on the important work that Cincinnati’s neuro-focused doctors and researchers are doing.

  • We are grateful for this amazing gift to support pancreatic cancer research.

A family with Cincinnati ties wants patients and their families grappling with a pancreatic cancer diagnosis to experience the gift of time. The family of Greg Lawton has established the Gregory E. Lawton Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center to advance research with the goal of improving patient outcomes. This generous gift honors the memory of the former Cincinnati resident and Procter & Gamble vice president. The Lawtons are grateful for the care Greg received following his pancreatic cancer diagnosis, specifically, an early-phase clinical study credited with extending his life. 🔗: https://lnkd.in/g6TZ-Uw5 UC Health I University of Cincinnati
