This article is a great reminder that while it's important to make candidates feel valued, "love bombing" during the interview process can backfire. Instead, focus on honesty and transparency—highlight what makes your company great, but also be upfront about challenges. This builds trust, aligns expectations, and attracts candidates who are genuinely excited about the role. Authenticity leads to better long-term retention and satisfaction.
Have you ever been "love-bombed" during an interview? The answer might be yes if a hiring manager tells you you're the perfect fit for a role or that you're the top candidate but ghosts you soon after. The term "love-bombing" originated as a way to describe the manipulative tactics some toxic people employ in romantic relationships to hook in their victims, showering them with affection, gifts, and promises for the future, only to later flip the script and show their real selves. But the same pattern may apply to the workplace, too. Workplace experts spoke to me about how to recognize the red flags and what you can do about it. https://lnkd.in/eHqDSjA5 #workplace #careers #lovebombing

Why job descriptions should not be as relevant in today’s world. Job descriptions have long been a staple in the hiring process, but in today’s rapidly evolving world of work, they may not be as relevant or effective as they once were. Let's face it…. Job descriptions that are generic and one-size-fits-all can fail to engage candidates. In the age of personalization, both candidates and employers are increasingly looking for roles that align with specific needs, preferences, and values. Instead of a rigid job description, candidates may respond better to a more dynamic approach where job expectations are communicated more fluidly and collaboratively. Are you currently seeking a new role in today’s market? Once you apply to that role a few moments later get the generic auto decline email and wonder how or why when you know you have met all of the posted requirements. Kinda frustrating, huh??? I agree, this could be because the organization is utilizing AI technology instead of a live sourcer to help sift through resumes. Although AI is a great tool to help keep cost down and productivity up… The downfall here that could be a huge oversight is future forward and personal touch. These two aspects, in my opinion, have shifted drastically within the last 5-10 years. The mentality today is this is what we need now go find it. In all reality it might very well be. However, How is this helping the organization in which you are supporting, 5-10 years down the road. Truthfully it is not helping, but hurting the company and here is why: 🔵 Damage to company brand- When we get the dreaded auto response or no response at all! 🔵 The longer a role stays open looking for that perfect fit that meets all the criteria of a job description, companies lose money. While job descriptions still serve a purpose, they are no longer the definitive guide to hiring or talent management. In today’s world, roles are more dynamic, skills-based, and personalized. Companies that focus on flexibility, skills, and the potential for growth will attract the best talent, rather than relying on rigid, outdated job descriptions. Embracing a more fluid and adaptive approach to hiring and role definition can lead to better employee engagement, retention, and overall success. #hiring #jobdescriptions #AI #FutureOfWork #HiringTrends #JobDescriptionEvolution #TalentAcquisition #WorkplaceInnovation #AIInHiring #CandidateExperience #PeopleFirst #RecruitmentRevolution #FlexibleWork #SkillsBasedHiring #EmployeeEngagement #ModernHiring #HiringForPotential #AgileWorkforce #HiringInsights #CompanyCulture #TalentManagement #WorkplaceFlexibility #JobMarketShift

📌 Internal vs. External Recruitment: Allies or Adversaries? 🤯 Internal recruitment teams benefit from external recruiters for several reasons, supported by key data: 📣 Broader Talent Pool: External recruiters have access to a wider network, including passive candidates. 70% of the global workforce is passive, and external recruiters are skilled at reaching them. 💼 Faster Hiring: External recruiters can reduce time-to-hire by 20-25%, according to SHRM, making them crucial for urgent or high-volume hiring needs. 🌏 Specialized Expertise: External recruiters often specialize in specific industries or roles, improving the quality of hires. A 2019 McKinsey report found 65% of companies report talent shortages, and external recruiters can help fill these gaps. 📊 Scalability: During rapid growth or large hiring surges, external recruiters can scale efforts quickly without overwhelming internal teams, enhancing productivity in periods of high demand. 📍 Market Insights: They provide valuable intelligence on salary trends, competitor offerings, and talent availability. 45% of hiring managers use external recruiters for market insights, helping adjust strategies. 🔕 Reduced Hiring Risk: External recruiters often ensure better cultural and functional fits, reducing turnover. 95% of companies prioritize cultural fit, which external recruiters can assess effectively. Partnering with an external recruiting agency can give internal recruiters the support and resources they need to be more efficient, effective, and strategic in their hiring efforts. Whether it’s filling hard-to-find positions, reducing the time to hire, managing high-volume recruitment, or gaining access to specialized expertise, the collaboration allows internal teams to focus on broader talent strategies while outsourcing more tactical, time-consuming tasks. #internalrecruitmentteams #hiring #externalrecruitment #hiringmanagers #highvolumerecruitment #collaboration #partnership #broadertalentstrategies
