Robert Hinsch is the second-longest-serving member of the TVF family, and his focus on building lasting relationships with customers and fellow employee owners continues to be a cornerstone of his approach. The vice president of business development began his career with TVF in 1987 (a year after Classic and Vinyl Program Director Bob Burns) and immediately made his mark by launching our West Coast operations. Through Robert’s and our team’s dedication, our presence in California and beyond has grown exponentially throughout the years. Of TVF’s slate of Core Values that help our employee owners prioritize how we connect with customers and each other; Robert says he most closely identifies with Put Relationships First. “Passionate people attract passionate, like-minded people,” Robert says, “and the relationship is more important to me than conducting business with one another. For TVF to engage as a supplier with our customers always comes from building a relationship first… A relationship to me is one of caring for one another, and that includes helping customers achieve their dreams.” Customers who partner with TVF receive a customized experience guided by employee owners like Robert who are personally invested in helping build their business. To Robert, the ownership mindset means “we have a group of individuals that work for a common goal who are excited about building a business and helping customers.” Robert adds “I have always hated the words sales, salesperson or salesman, being sold. In fact, I hate it when someone plays me with the intent to be sold for their betterment without my interest in mind. While in accounting, we define a transaction as a sale, for me, it's about understanding the need and getting what the customer wants. Not the other way around.” Outside of TVF, Robert’s hobbies revolve around all things outdoors: camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, surfing, restoring old motorcycles and cars, racing and riding motorcycles, mountain biking, and skateboarding. Fun fact: Robert has flown 10 different models of aircraft in his life. #TVFCommunity 🧡
